How many people have been lied to by FPL

It'd be nice to have a number of people who have ben lied to by FPL person and/or have experienced bad service on their part. I am one. Reason has been discussed elsewhere on these forum. I just think it's too bad that a company who saw great opportunities is doomed to fail because of such bad repre...

Re: PAP2T no incoming calls

Hi gvardan, If you didn't touch any settings then the problem is probably not yours. + You said you checked them and they seem fine. As for *78 I don't think it should do anything cause you have to press 4 times the star key to get in the settings (or did your sister do that?). Anyway I suggest you ...

Re: Noob dryloop question

pucksandbeer, Bundles are just a way of keeping you with them making you think you have great prices. I've looked at almost every possible way to get the lowest overall prices and it turns out when you have services (TV, phone and internet) with 3 different providers you'll save even more. Try looki...

Re: Porting Cost?

They'll (administrators) will correct me if I'm wrong. Porting is not possible for softphone because 1st you register with Freephoneline with an email address and a password. Then you select a phone number from their database. When you download their softphone all you can enter is your email address...

Re: Cofussed about required hardwear

FPL sells their ATA at reasonnable price. Sure you may get cheaper elsewhere but the price difference is not worth it. Pus buying from FPL you'll get it pre configured and garrantied. The little money they make out of it also helps them maintain their service and network. It's worth buying it from F...

Re: number porting & dry-loop for my DSL

My mom was in the same situation as you. That is living in an appartment with the phone to open the door. I got her to install Videotron's phone (which from my readings is similar to voip). Then we couldn't buzz her, she couldn't use the speaker phone and open the door. We discovered a month later i...

Re: 3G data usage.

Here is my theory. If someone knows better I'm sure you'll see the correction here. FPL uses the G729a codec. G729a uses 8Kbps (that should mean kilobytes per second) In 1 megabyte there are 1044 Kilobytes You have 100Mb or 102 400Kb 102 400 divided by 8 (number of Kb it takes per second of talking)...

Pfiou! Luckily the forum. I was looking for it and also saw unlimited but the 60GB is on the french page: http://www.freephoneline.ca/fr/optionalServices where $19,95 is written in big (last box). CaptureWiz.jpg So great then it's unlimited. That will make it even easier to get subscribers here and ...

Re: Superspeed DSL

Yes please tell us, what is your super speed and at what price.

There's a lot of competition out there and for just $1,00 more a month people aren't ready to change. Although it would benefit FPL to have more people buying there internet I suggest to at least have same price as competition.

Re: Loud hum in background during dialtone and calls

Maybe Steve is right and it was electrical noise. Just to make sure did you move your ATA? It's recommended that each device (modem, router, ATA, computer, etc) have at least a 3 foot distance between them.

PM Kris (Admin) or FPL Steve and give them your number, they'll check it out. I've also read in the forum that they''ll do some upgrades on the system next week.

Re: pap2 no longer working

Most electronic devices are made in China. But some are assembled in the U.S.A.. The really big difference is the name that is finally put on it and maybe the final testing. If he bought on ebay rather than here then the warranty won't be of a year and that's the loss. So I suggest he buys one from ...

Re: POTS to Dryloop & number to FPL

Zombie, If his number is ported before the dry loop is done he will have secured the number but will be without internet. FPL is phone over IP (internet) thus DSL over regular POTS shouldn't work. Any way, whatever thing he does first he will still get it the way he wants it. At worst he'll be out o...

Did that with my sister in law (the lucky one who got her 613-679-XXXX number ported) and everything rocked. Many things are said about such procedures but this is how: 1-Order the dry loop (you can have regular DSL and Dry loop together that way you'll be sure to have your internet on without disru...

I should have also mentionned that even if you don't get any tone at all you can still get into your ATA configuration by pressing the corresponding keys. 4 times the star then whatever command you want to go into. So maybe you can just try pickup your phone press **** and see if you can hear a voic...

Drank lots of beer

I just arrived from New-Brunswick to visit family I see only once a year. So every time we gather up together we celebrate. This year I got everyone to drink Labatt's Budweiser. I thought it could be a nice way to make revenues go up so FPL can make new announcements sooner about the expansion of th...

Internet speed test

For those who are curious about knowing their internet speed here are links to speed tests. I'm giving more than one because one test is not accurate just by itself.
