Re: Whatsapp!
This is exactly my question. In my worst case, it seems that I have to port the number back to a real service provider, get the SMS code to verify my number for whatsapp. Should I be responsible for paying fongo again? We are upfront about the fact that we don't support short codes and verification...

Re: No more support for Free Phone Line?
Nothing is changing with your FPL accounts, we don't provide technical support for FPL and this is an offer for those that would like the peace of mind of technical support and a maintenance-free pre-configured ATA.

Re: unable to receive group sms
There really isn't such a thing as "group SMS". People with iPhones are accustomed to "group SMS" because they use iMessage, but they aren't really in a "group SMS", they are in a "group iMessage" and Apple is facilitating the communications, not your mobile p...

Re: Using Fongo with European SIM
Generally we don't hear of too many issues connecting in Europe or anywhere else in the world for that matter, however some wireless carriers in the Middle East do block SIP UDP and even some ISP's there block it for home internet too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Perhaps some day we will have coverage in Camrose but currently we do not and as such, it is not included in our free calling area. We have no ETA on when this may come about.RandyG wrote:? ?

Re: Texting while on a Fongo call
Unfortunately not, there are no widgets in BB10 like there is with Android.mh1983 wrote:Thanks, Jeff! I'm on BB10, so I'm guessing it's not possible there? (I know the app is an Android port, but the OS can't do widgets).
Not a dealbreaker; just wanted to see if it was possible. Thanks for your help!

Hi, A few questions about the service: 1) Can I port a number from my current carrier to Fongo and then use the free version of Fongo? (i.e not buy any credits/pay further money unless I choose to) 2) Can I port a number from a landline to Fongo Mobile? 3) Can I port from mobile to Fongo home? Plea...

Re: Texting while on a Fongo call
With Android, you can add the message screen shortcut widget to your homescreen that allows you to launch right into the message screen while you are on a call. It isn't possible to do with the iOS version at this time.

Re: $ 35 fee for 911?
I guess they could, but it would be the death of the company. I can't see any business model going from free to paid over night and expecting to survive. If I may be candid, there are NO PLANS to switch to a paid model for FPL, so people should not worry or speculate about that. However, in theory,...

Re: $ 35 fee for 911?
Uh, I paid for lifetime service and 911 was INCLUDED in that service. I think Fongo needs to grandfather users that paid before this was instituted. From the FPL Terms of Service: "The terms of this Agreement, including fees, charges, features, content or any other aspects of a Service, may ch...

Correct. You do not need to have a $35 balance to place a call to 911.ckkatan wrote:Can Fongo Staff confirm that the 911 service is not blocked without $35 in the account?

Re: Incoming Bell to Fongo calls long distance or local?
Our "free calling cities" mean that you can call those cities for free using Fongo, as you are doing now. It does not work in the reverse, Bell is going to charge long distance if it is a long distance call to the Fongo number, we don't have any control over that.

Re: Problems configuring OBi110 to work with FPL
I'm not sure why this needs to be stated, but 911 is not a number you should call to test your line, 911 is for real emergencies only. Please do not call 911 to test your line.
