This is exactly my question. In my worst case, it seems that I have to port the number back to a real service provider, get the SMS code to verify my number for whatsapp. Should I be responsible for paying fongo again? We are upfront about the fact that we don't support short codes and verification...

Unfortunately not, there are no widgets in BB10 like there is with Android.

With Android, you can add the message screen shortcut widget to your homescreen that allows you to launch right into the message screen while you are on a call. It isn't possible to do with the iOS version at this time.

Correct. You do not need to have a $35 balance to place a call to 911.

Yes, all 911 calls are subject to a $35 fee, especially test calls.

We do not allow verification texts or calls from the services mentioned in this thread.

Our "free calling cities" mean that you can call those cities for free using Fongo, as you are doing now. It does not work in the reverse, Bell is going to charge long distance if it is a long distance call to the Fongo number, we don't have any control over that.

We only read your local contacts if given permission, we do not transmit your contacts to our servers.

911 will function fine, just make sure you have updated your address information by logging into your account at http://www.freephoneline.ca

I'm not sure why this needs to be stated, but 911 is not a number you should call to test your line, 911 is for real emergencies only. Please do not call 911 to test your line.
