Re: Degraded Call Quality
Is it me or the call quality recently has been terrible? Call quality is great for me. I'm getting some really bad lag and static noises. This is likely due to a lack of QoS (are other people in your household using the internet while you're trying to talk on the phone), poor routing to the voip si...

Re: service down or just me :)?
I haven't changed ANY settings in either my router or ATA in years. That's not good because FPL's settings did change in 2013: http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries/23120323-VoIP-Unlock-Key-Credentials Make sure the following settings are applied to the SIP tab on your ATA: Handle VIA received: y...

I am not familiar with the desktop app, but this sounds like a NAT firewall issue to me, unless DND (do not disturb feature) has been enabled by accident.

And I am using Linksys dd-wrt Router, and this is not the Router Problem, It can be regardless of whether it's working fine with another FPL number. The issue you're describing does point to a NAT firewall issue. It makes no difference whether a number has been ported, unless it actually hasn't bee...

Re: "network status:ip not available. reason: 00"?
This issue has nothing to do with Freephoneline. If you hear this announcement and the power LED is blinking green, that means OBi can not get IP from your router. Power cycle your router, and verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected and you are seeing a link light on the router port where yo...

Re: Problems configuring OBi110 to work with FPL
I'm not sure why this needs to be stated Probably because testing to e911 is considered acceptable with some other voip services, and was also stated as much by someone from the E911 call centre... For example, from http://www.voip.com/help/residential/your_account/911_dialing/testing_e911.aspx &qu...

Call Forward When Unavailable bugged?

Re: Message Waiting Indicator not working...
Hi Liptonbrisk, I did read about how FPL can take up to 10 minutes to fully update the mwi status from previous posts. I waited until the next day for it to update but the light and stuttering dial tone were still present. Maybe it's my account and I need to open a trouble ticket with FPL? I think ...

Re: Problems configuring OBi110 to work with FPL
I took your advice and called 911. The Operator asked quickly "police or ambulance". I explained it was meant as test for my new VoIP phone, and asked him to verify my name and address. However, he did not answer my question directly, but made me on standby to call the police in my city. ...

Does anyone have the mwi setup working on their obihai device or is it hopeless? Yes, MWI works with OBi ATAs and Freephoneline without any problems. If you're coming from a regular home phone experience and expecting MWI to immediately trigger after a message is left or immediately be disabled aft...

Re: Problems configuring OBi110 to work with FPL
I tried a few more things and should say that the setup is working, except I don't know for sure if e911 would be working if exercised, given the OBiTALK possessive DigitMap. I actually removed the OBi110 device from OBiTALK by performing a Factory Reset, reconfigured it with FPL's recommended Guid...

Yes, without paying $50, you don't have a Freephoneline SIP account. Once you pay, you are provided with SIP account setting information, including a password.tester2 wrote: so you think I need to Purchase UNLOCK Key also.

All you've paid for is a phone number port.

Couple of other people I know can't visit the rates page either, and I reproduced the issue on another computer. Kaspersky Pure 3.0 Total Security and Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 (and possibly Kaspersky Antivirus 2015) basically feel the FPL rates webpage is infected and a threat. Consequently,...

I found the problem. Kaspersky Pure 3.0 web anti-virus protection doesn't like it and is blocking the site from loading. As soon as I disable web antivirus protection, ldservices loads fine. Wasn't easy to figure out, since no pop-up appears from Kaspersky warning me that it blocked the site. It's r...
