Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

Unfortunately, that requires a jailbreak which I don't want to do. I was successfully using my app prior to the upgrade without any DTMF issues, so hopefully FPL can isolate the issue. What app is this? Acrobits Groundwire. I'm assuming it would be similar for their other app as well, Acrobits Soft...

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

About the DTMF problem: Fring and Nimbuzz can both be used to test an SIp account, but they can NOT be used to test DTMF as both apps have their problems with it. Their respective forums are full of users requesting better DTMF functions. The only app that I've used on iPhone successfully for sip w...

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

can you maybe switch applications and try this one ?? http://www.fring.com/download/iphone/ I heard you can use this for any voip carrier Interestingly, Fring gives the exact same results. FPL voicemail works for key presses, but other automated systems do not. The two non-FPL numbers I've tried ar...

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by trying another provider. I don't have any other VoIP accounts.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

Here are a few other screen shots to provide some context on my current settings. Please note that prior to the FPL upgrade I had DTMF working without any problems, so while I appreciate everyone suggesting that I change my codecs, I don't think it should be necessary.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

Does anyone at FPL have anything to say about my DTMF bug report? Set you codec to G711u and DTMF mode to INBAND.' Edit: checked your other posts and looks like you don't have INBAND as option. Then try AUDIO or AUTO if you have that. Using the G711u codec and setting the DTMF mode to "audio&q...

Same issue with those settings. Key presses work with FPL voicemail but no other automated system I call in to.

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

Two suggestions for the dtmf problem: 1. Try moving the RFC item to the top of the enabled list. 2. Try the "all enabled" function just to see. Also, what is your outgoing audio codec? The "in audio" dtmf method can only work with certain codecs. With those settings I can get th...

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

I'm not sure if this is being reported elsewhere, but as of yesterday my FPL account does not seem to be responding properly to key presses when calling in to an automated system. I am even having problems with the PFL voicemail system not recognizing my key presses. Did the upgrade affect the DTMF ...

Re: DTMF does not work on incoming calls

A conclusion (not a resolution) has been reached: 1. The soft-switch requests G711u on incoming calls for our service, as it is among the best of quality, and most reliable codec for use with our service - It has also been proven to fail the least. 2. **Officially**, freephoneline only supports G71...

Re: DTMF does not work on incoming calls

I respect that you are busy, but please don't discard this. Forget about answering machine, PBX or anything else. In reviewing all replies to my posts, I see I haven't made myself clear. Only 3 things involved: a PSTN caller, FPL and a SIP hardphone with using a config file. I refer to 101 which is...

Re: Configuring SIP Client on iPhone/iPod Touch

I installed the G729 codec. It seems to work properly with outgoing calls, but on an incoming call, the G711 (u-Law) codec is selected instead. I have set G729 as the first choice, but it is never used for incoming calls. Is this something controlled by FPL that can be switched? That is a good ques...

Re: Configuring SIP Client on iPhone/iPod Touch

Another issue I've been having is with the DTMF settings. If I call in to the FPL voicemail system, my key presses are accepted without any problem. However, if I call my landline and press number keys on the softphone, I cannot hear them on the landline phone. Similarly, if I call my bank's automat...

Re: New FollowMe Management Module

Is there any way to have the maximum time before voicemail increased to say 45 seconds or 60 seconds? Re: Configuring SIP Client on iPhone/iPod Touch

@bridonca: are you sure that FPL works in both directions using G.729a? I've seen some comments on the forum that it actually only works in one direction (i.e. outgoing voice). I'm very new to all this VOIP technology so I am not sure what to believe. Also, you mention G.711 u-Law in two places in y...

Re: Configuring SIP Client on iPhone/iPod Touch

Perhaps someone can provide me with the best codec(s) to use (keeping in mind the bandwidth vs. quality trade-off). Here are the codec options for the Acrobits SIP Phone app: iLBC G.711 u-Law G.711 a-Law G.722 GSM G.729a (this is an optional codec that can be purchased) The app allows me to order th...

Configuring SIP Client on iPhone/iPod Touch

I am using the Acrobits SIP Softphone app on an iPod Touch, but am I having a few problems getting my FPL account set up and working properly on it.
