Re: Disconnected lately
Just got it set up your way - Rogers modem works in the bridge mode. Linksys E4200 plugged into it, two Fongo lines plugged into the E4200. Thanks!

Disconnected lately
I do have two home lines, and both have been disconnected lately about once a week. I have them both plugged into Rogers proprietary high speed modem-router. It's been working fine for last few years, but now the service goes down once and again. Rebooting the router usually fixes the problem, but i...

Re: Suggest router to work with Rogers cable modem
Sorry - I should have mentioned that I am planning on using both lines - what adjustments will I have to make to my router settings?

Re: weired problem. two FPL with linksys spa2102
Would you mind sharing please - I am planning to install the second FPL line - how should I go about port forwarding in that case? Thanks!

Re: Suggest router to work with Rogers cable modem
It's been working fine for last 2 weeks - not bad I guess. I am thinking of porting my existing Bell line to FPL now. Will I have to make more adjustments to the router in terms of port forwarding, etc.?
All the suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Re: Suggest router to work with Rogers cable modem
Update on my adventures. After flashing Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT as suggested above (special thanks for that!) I went to SERVICES=>SERVICES, and obtained Static IP Lease for my ATA: - pushed ADD button - in MAC address field entered 12-digit number with semicolons, previously obtained from ATA ad...

Re: Suggest router to work with Rogers cable modem
Thank you all, I've flashed my WRT54GL - the network is up and running again. I have also assigned static IP 192.168.1.2 to my Grandstream ATA in the router interface and in ATA admin area. That's what I put in in the ATA admin area: IP Address 192.168.1.2 Subnet mask 255.255.255.255 Default router ...

Re: Suggest router to work with Rogers cable modem
Thanks a lot for your responses! Will I be able to assign a static IP to my ATA from inside the router after flashing it? I believe that was the problem - I have assigned port forwarding for one IP, but there is no guarantee that the IP number for ATA is always the same. Actually shortly after insta...

Re: Echo problem on receiver's side of conversation
Can you please suggest the right router for me?
I have Rogers high speed as well, but my Linksys wrt54gl is not good enough, as the tech support put it. After I asked what router should I buy, so it'd work properly, they suggested me to check with forum members.
OK?

Suggest router to work with Rogers cable modem
Please help me with the choice of the right router for my configuration. I have high speed connection via Rogers TV Cable as of now. My router is Linksys WRT54GL. Apparently not good enough, since the service with FPL ATA via router is intermittent. Seems to be fine when plugged directly into Rogers...

Re: Grandstream HT-286
I got my Grandstream HT-286 plugged into DYNEX hub, and after dialing *** I was getting an error message or all zeroes for an IP number. Plugging the ATA directly into the Linksys router seemed to solve the problem. Strange considering that all my other computers, printers and network drives don't s...

Re: Newbie - no connection to the server
It's very frustrating. I've got possibly the coolest phone number from the freephoneline.ca, and can't make it work.
Is it me, my router, my computer, or something else?

Re: Newbie - no connection to the server
Thanks so much for reply. I made changes to TCP - still no connection. Application suggest that port 13000 should be open. I seem to have opened it. Did not I?

Newbie - no connection to the server
1. Softphone installed on a single computer in the network. IP address changed to static 192.168.1.3, Windows Firewall OFF. Computer connects to the outside world fine. 2. Linksys WRT54GL router - UDP ports for the specified IP address 13000-13001 and 6060-6061 - enabled. 3. Softphone keeps showing ...
