Re: Voice Mail Stopped Taking Messages

Thanks. That worked. I setup a greeting and exited successfully.

I called again from a landline and got the same error.

Voice Mail Stopped Taking Messages

I use my service only occasionally. I do have my FPL account setup on my Android phone so I can make and receive calls from the road. The online portal shows "CONNECTED SIPUA/0.0.001" A friend of mine today told me that he had received an error when he tried to leave a voice mail. I called...

Re: Data plan?

I'm back home to the snow on Sunday. I'll be sure to d/l the CDN version then.

I'll be in Europe for a week in April, so I'll try it there over wifi.

Thanks again for the suggestion.

Re: Data plan?

Thanks Jake.

With all of the different flavours of FPL, I really don't know much about the Fongo app.

Can I use my FPL login and use my FPL number and world credits?

If not, what are the fees for calling/texting Canadian numbers from Canada/US/Europe?

Re: Data plan?

I second the Freedompop suggestion. I've been using them for about a year now with very few issues. If you can follow directions, then you can get 1GB/mo for free. I'm currently posting this from Florida using their service. There is a lot of discussion at slickdeals.net about this service. Some are...

Re: FPL Account with CSIPSimple

Absolutely correct. I had an l (lower case L) where I should have had a 1 (one}. Working fine now. Thanks.

Re: FPL Account with CSIPSimple

OK, Now an update.

A couple of hours later, the account page in CSIPSimple still shows "Registered". When I try to dial out though, I hear "That password is not valid."

If the pw is wrong, should it show registered?

FPL Account with CSIPSimple

Has anyone had any luck in setting up their FPL account with an Android SoftPhone? I downloaded CSIPSimple due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews. They have a preset for FPL. I unplugged power from my Obi100. I input my username (11 digit phone number) and my password (FPL SIP unlock code) into ...

World Credits

I have two FPL accounts. Both are enabled with automatic top-up on my world credits. When my balance gets to $1.25 (once or twice a year usually) then it's supposed to charge my credit card $5.00 and apply that to my account. A couple of weeks ago, I got an email notifying me that the balance was lo...

Re: Outage Status

I can't see there being anything wrong with my setup. It's been working 100% for months. I've made no changes. I wanted to see if I was alone in having these issues. It looks like I was.Could be an ISP thing maybe... One way or another, 8 hours later I'm up and running with no changes. We'll see how...

Re: Outage Status

A minute later "Register Failed: No Response From Server (server=208.65.240.44:5060; retry in 34s)"

Looks to me like FPL...at least I hope it is.

Re: Outage Status

Update: Now a few minutes later I get "Register Failed: 401 Unauthorized (server=208.65.240.44:5060; retrying)"
Is this something on my end or FPLs?

Outage Status

Are we currently down on FPL? On incoming calls, I get a ring, then no audio either way. On outgoing, I get silence, then :The number you dialed 905-xxx-xxxx has not received a response from the service provider" Nothing has change on my end. My Obi shows "Registered (server=208.65.240.44:...

Will FPL Cancel Service on Unused Device?

I have two FPL accounts. I paid for unlock codes on both. One I use full time at home. The other one is at my trailer in upstate NY. I only use that one for the summer months. I unplugged my Obi110 at the end of September and now, I'm a little concerned that FPL might see the number not being used a...

FPL in US--911 Address

I use FPL with an Obi110 at my trailer in upstate NY. Is it possible to register a US address for 911 response? Alternatively, I could probably figure out how to route 911 to my GV acct.

Suggestions?

Voice Mail w/ Obi Device

Is there a simple way to enable *98 to call voice mail with an Obi device? I have both a 100 and a 110 at two different locations. I know that I can dial my FPL number for VM, but I'm trying to raise the WAF a little. By default, *98 is a "Blind Transfer" to the Obi. I know that I can chan...

Cortelco 8211

Has anyone here successfully used a Cortelco 8211 ATA for FPL? At $11 from Amazon, it might be worth a shot. It supports a PSTN line too, so it's actually pretty versatile. The manual is available online http://www.briantist.com/how-to/configure-viking-ata-100-cortelco-8211-analog-telephone-adapter/...

Re: Missing First Few Seconds

These settings apply specifically to routers that have been re-flashed with afetrmarket "Tomato" firmware. Stock firmware rarely has most of these features. Your e4200 does support Tomato. If you haven't yet flashed it, you might want to consider it.

Missing First Few Seconds

I've been using FPL for quite a while and have been very happy. I'm not sure if my issue is new or if I've just never noticed it before. I'm running a PAP2 behind a Tomato router. When I initiate a call from my FPL device, I hear nothing for the first few seconds. If the called party answers quickly...
