Re: Home Phone - Any Way to Block Specifc Numbers?
Take a look at freepbx (it's also free). If you have an old computer you can dedicate to it then you'll be able to block undesired numbers from calling in. You need very few knowledge to program it.

Re: Account deactivation after prolonged inactivity
You need to use (at least make one phone call from your) fongo app in 90 days or your account will be deleted. Fongo usually sends an email to the user to warn them that their account will be deleted but many users (including myself) did not receive such notification. So don't take a chance, and mak...

2 thumbs up (and porting)
1st I want to say I'm a proud and happy FPL customer and have been for 5 years now. Today I contacted support (through emails) and in 5 minutes my "problem" (follow me was stuck) was fixed. 2 thumbs up here! While I was at it I wondered if I could change my Fongo number to one I previously...

1-800 not connecting
My phone and lines are all working good. But when I try to call a 800 number (1-800-782-XXXX) either from my FPL home line, the desktop app or Fongo app on my tablet the call is immediately rejected. On the apps I get the "connecting" message and after one second I hear a click (like it di...

Re: Cellphone for emergency
Thanks Jake and Bridonca. So 7-11 should assign me a (unpopular) number. I don't mind unpopular but does this mean I cannot ask for an Ottawa number (which is what I would like)? And if I like the number they assign can I make it permanent or is it a temporary number? As for a new FPL account (numbe...

Re: Desktop app not working
Are you using FPL software or Fongo? Although from same company they have little differences and if you subscribed with one the credentials will not be the same for the other one. Also try uninstalling and re-installing the software. Good luck and keep us posted.

Cellphone for emergency
I'm a proud and happy customer of FPL for over 5 years and want to stay with them. I put up my own pbx with freepbx and with my tablet I can use my phone almost anywhere. My "problem" is if I'm not in an area with wifi (per example near a Tim Horton's) I cannot make calls. So if I had an e...

CSip simple and free pbx help
So I've decided to have my own pbx(free pbx) instead of pbxes.org because I did not want the 60 minutes limit and for other benefits I could discover. When with pbxes.org I downloaded CSip simple on my android and could use so I could call and receive calls on both my home phone (fpl) and on the and...

$35,00 for every 911 calls???!!!
Just went on my SIP setting page of fpl (something I have not looked at for over a year) and at the very bottom found these writings: 911 calls will incur a $35.00 charge per call. You will be charged $35.00 for each call to 911 made on an account with a VoIP unlock key . Is this even legal (such a ...

PAP2 and PABX. How?
Actually I'm "hooked" with pbxes.org. I have a paid freephoneline and a GV. I've arranged that destinations I cannot call with FPL I can call with GV using my same handset (fixed through the outgoing routes of pbxes.org). I know many have made themselves a home pbx with an old computer usi...

Account deleted after 3 months no use
Just wondering. Had a FPL account but I had not used it for 3 months. Naturally as written in the facts it was deleted. I rarely used it but it was necessary. Last year I received an email telling me to use my account before some days or account would be deleted. This time I did not receive any emai...

Re: Lowest data plan (help)
I don't mind paying a big amount upfront but encouraging companies by paying time I would not use.
Paying $100,00 is not a problem but paying $100,00 for probably only 3 minutes (per month)at the most would be ridiculous.
Any other suggestions?

Lowest data plan (help)
I take care of my disabled elderly mother. When I'm lucky I sometimes get a couple hours of respite. I actually don't have a cell phone and have not for over 8 years (and I managed to survive lol). As anything could happen due to her condition it would now come in handy but it would only be to recei...

Re: No incoming calls
There are so many set up or ways to verify possible that I completely forgot one... I tried setting FPL on the second line of my PAP2 (Line 1 is set with pbxes where FPL is set)... Everything works fine now! So problem is pbxes.org. Thanks all Now I'll have to figure out how to just use my PAP 2 wit...

No incoming calls
Since last Sunday my incoming calls don't work (works for outgoing calls). When someone tries to reach me he hears one ring the the click of hang up (no voice mail, nothing). I've tried much everything (reboot, reset, both ATA and modem) Nothing works. My ports forwarding are also all set (5060, 506...

This old dinosaur I am is trying to update itself with new gadgets and figure out how to make the best of them for all its needs. So I'm about to buy an android tablet. I have the "old" Freephoneline" with the unlock key using it as my home phone. What I'd like to do is put the DellVo...

A search option for the call logs would often come handy when seeking a day that a specific number was called to or from.

You might be in a rare situation.
You should immediately phone customer support directly. You could maybe also PM Steve (Fongo_Steve) here. He usually looks things through quickly.

Re: How to get busy tones when phone is in use
You cannot in no way disable voicemail with FPL/Fongo, it is not permitted. One of the main reason is they get a bit of revenues from calls terminated to them which is where the VM comes in handy.

Re: is there any difference?
Dani85. Buying FPL/Fongo's ATA adapter also means getting customer service to help you troubleshoot any issues. At $49,99 (+$14,95 shipping) the difference from buying elsewhere is worth it. Plus if FPL/Fongo makes a little extra over them it goes directly to insurring continuty of free service and ...

Re: a better home phone adapter
dani85, If you want to use FPL/Fongo like your regular Bell phone it is possible. You will need a phone line splitter and an adapter with Line 1 and Line 2. You will connect your ATA to a phone box (small outlet on the wall where you plug in a telephone) and that will make all your phone outlets wor...

Re: How to check the voice mail msg?
FPL's Voice message service is a great one. I too at the beginning preferred using my VM but soon found out it was just a question of habit. The other thing is that FPL is a free service and gets a couple of cents for every termination call. If you have your own answering device that means FPL will ...
