Re: Fongo invoice
I too, got one of these today. It may seem like silly question, but since we now know the reason for the $0.00 invoice, would it still be advisable to email a query to Fongo, anyway?

Re: Freephoneline webpage not availble during internet outag
I'd like to add an additional bit of information that the second Cogeco agent got back to me with today: A large part of my city's Cogeco service was out because of vandalism. Since the first agent I spoke to said there were no outages listed for that time, I guess lack of service due to vandalism i...

Re: Freephoneline webpage not availble during internet outag
Thanks for the reply, Liptonbrisk. I can't do a WinMTR test over my phone at the wifi hub (local supermarket). All I know is that I connected with wifi and was able to reach every website I tried, except for freephoneline.ca. Blank page with the message that I couldn't connect to the website, and to...

Freephoneline webpage not availble during internet outage
Yesterday Cogeco had a 20 hours-long system-wide outage that affected all service areas. As a result my VoIP phone was down. I went to a nearby unaffected wifi hub so I could go to freephoneline.ca to get my calls forwarded to my cell. I found that I couldn't do that because the freephoneline websit...

Re: 16 March 2023, website down
Yippie! Glad to see it up and running again.
Yes, I did check scheduled maintenance first, but didn't see any for today (16th March). The website was down this afternoon around 2pm, so I was concerned and kicking myself for not setting up Followme last night.

16 March 2023, website down
Looks like the planned maintenance of the 13th and 14th has spilled into the 16th. I've been able to access the website fine until today. It is reported as being down, by multiple down-detectors around the world.

Re: [Resolved] voip.freephoneline.ca incoming call problem
Thank you very much. I understand a lot better now.
Should I just leave Line 2 blank? Currently it's the same as line 1 (voip2.freephoneline.ca:5060)

Re: [Resolved] voip.freephoneline.ca incoming call problem
Q1. I know you've told me over and over that only one voip address can be used since I've only paid for one unlock key. I didn't think having something different in Line 2 would matter since it's not active. I guess I'm having trouble understanding how I can have call waiting if there's only one li...

Re: [Resolved] voip.freephoneline.ca incoming call problem
Thanks for sending the email, Liptonbrisk. I hope you're right. Fingers crossed :) Line 1 is voip.freephoneline.ca:5060 Line 2 is voip2.freephoneline.ca:5060 When the call to me went straight through to voicemail, I was not on line 1. I was not on the phone at all. If the problem was Line 2, shouldn...

[Resolved] voip.freephoneline.ca incoming call problem
Incoming calls are going straight to voicemail. I have been using call forwarding when I'm out, disabling it when I'm home, so I don't know if that has caused issues that have led to this present problem. I am at home right now, and call forwarding is disabled. Someone just called me on my cell that...

Calls sometimes going straight to voicemail
This morning I got a call on my cell phone from someone who had tried calling my Freephoneline landline and their call had gone straight to voicemail. I tried calling my landline from my cell phone, and yes; the call went straight to voicemail. This was strange because the only thing I have done dif...

Charge for Followme within free calling area?
I just got a mobile phone and would like to forward calls going to my home phone (Freephoneline) to my mobile phone when I'm out and about. But when I looked for more information on Followme, it says "You can forward to any North American number with a per minute rate of $0.03 per minute or les...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
If you want to check whether a most recent incoming call has reached your ATA, log into your ATA and navigate to Voice-->Information-->Last Caller Number. I clicked every link in my ATA because the above isn't there, but there isn't any kind of caller info, anything that looks like the above at all...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
All call duration limits are now rounded in FPL call logs, which is a relatively recent change: https://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20404&#p79878. So, all calls will be listed as being at least 1 minute long no matter what. Even the ones that don't actually reach you. Until Rogers c...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
Yesterday I was having terrible trouble with dead air, disconnected calls, and jitter while trying to communicate with a courier company. Then I found out that the trouble was at their end, not mine. They're still being affected by the Rogers fiasco. After I had finished with them, I made other call...

I wonder if anyone else has been experiencing these issues? The Rogers thing is only recent but my phoneline service has been deteriorating for months.

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
I seldom make or receive calls during peak times. These calls are usually between 12 and 5pm on weekdays. Unfortunately, I don't have hope that the situation will improve. Regardless of the proxy used, the two RTP servers remain the same. From what little I understand of RTP servers, that's the netw...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
Line 2 is "Line Enable: No". So I guess it didn't matter that I had voip4.freephoneline.ca as proxy...it wasn't enabled anyway. I was referring to both the Cisco SPA122/Freephoneline set up guide and what I thought I was being told in various replies I've gotten to my posts over the years,...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
I think there has been a misunderstanding: I use voip.freephoneline.ca as proxy for line 1, and voip2.freephoneline.ca as proxy for line 2. This is how the instructions for setup say to do it so there's call waiting. At some point, I think last year, users were told they should use voip4.freephoneli...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
Do you have two VoIP unlock keys? Are you attempting to register the same VoIP unlock key on two separate ATA lines? I only have the one key. voip.freephoneline.ca for line 1, and voip2.freephoneline.ca for line 2. "voip4.freephoneline,ca" was a typo. Have you tried a different ethernet c...

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
While I was setting up the ATA with VoIP.freephoneline.ca, and VoIP4.freephoneline.ca, when I clicked "Submit", I was immediately logged out. Second try went fine. What is this dsl-cust.ca.inter.net? If it's an ISP, it doesn't look too reliable. Here're the numbers you were wanting to see....

Re: Dead air calling out, or upon being put on hold
Here are the numbers. If I subtract maximum ("Wrst") from Average, I get a negative number, which would mean that jitter isn't the issue, correct? I do apologise for the formatting: the text editor on this webpage keeps removing the spaces and justifying everything to the left. I've tried ...
