Re: Should this number be free?

Can anyone please confirm that this the correct place to advise FPL that there are some changes required to the calling tables?
And how long did it take to get these adjustments made?
Thanks!

Re: Should this number be free?

I too am having a similar problem. This does seem to happen from time to time and usually I just give up and use my cell phone instead when it is a one-off number I am calling. But this time it is for the home phone of one of my son's friends - they live two blocks away. It is really frustrating hav...

Re: Intermittent beeps before dial tone

I haven't checked lately, but when I first changed us over to FPL several years ago my wife was really unhappy about the delay in voicemail registrations. We were used to an instantaneous toggle on/off with either Bell's traditional copper lines or even with Rogers Home Phone. After a lot of testing...

Re: Service not working - Friday March 30th

I was out most of the day after my original post. Yes, we are on Rogers. The odd thing is of the 30 websites I tried the only ones that were slow were the Fongo, FPL and then the Forum website also slowed down, but was not as slow to come up as the others. So, to me, even if it was Rogers issues the...

Re: Service not working - Friday March 30th

I'm in Markham, ON. And things are definitely not working here. Even the forum website is appearing slow at times now. There wasn't some notice that they were chaning servers and thus moving DNS settings or anything was there? And still no phone service. But, unlike the problem earlier this month I ...

Service not working - Friday March 30th

Is anyone else having issues tonight? I am experiencing the same symptoms we did back on Sunday March 18th, when the service was down - I do not hear a dial-tone. I have a Linksys PAP2T phone device and yes, I have power-cycled all my eqiupment. I can verify that although my internet is working just...

Re: Service Interruption - March 18, 2012

Ours has been up at least twice this afternoon. But it only lasted a couple minutes both times. I've tested again and rebooting the ATA doesn't have an effect. I've tried that several times and it doesn't make it start working. The times when it has worked it just did it on its own without a reboot....

Re: Voice Mail Waiting Indicator - Email Notification

The MWI is a waste of time IMO. It is supposed to work, it is there, but there is such a delay between a message being left or read to the MWI changing that it makes it difficult to know where you are. (Jake, I think we are saying the same thing) The MWI would be very useful if it actually worked! ...

Re: Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) Not Going Off

I too have been having ongoing MWI issues. Either it doesn't come on at all (that has become the norm), or at least once in the past few weeks it finally came on and we immediately checked and deleted the message but then it stayed on for days. MWI is really useful when you are using this service as...

Re: Service Interruption - March 18, 2012

Ours just started working again a couple minutes ago (we're located near Toronto).
Is the feeling that it could be up and down, or is this really fixed at this point?

EDIT 4:22pm > I had spoken too soon. It worked for a few minutes, but has been down again since then.

Any updates in terms of when this will be fixed? I'm really regretting porting our home phone number over, at this point.

Re: Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) Not Going Off

It's now 4:24pm. If I call into voicemail *98, I am told there are 3 NEW messages. But, the MWI has still not bee triggered. Could someone look into this again on the server side?

Re: Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) Not Going Off

I am also having problems with the MWI. We received multiple messages throughout the weekend and our MWI was not triggered (on) at all. I am in the middle of doing my own test this morning. I left a voicemail for myself 31 minutes ago and have yet to see the MWI change on our home phones. It appears...

Ideas to improve the MWI (Voicemail Message Waiting Alert)

I am posting this here, because I noticed I posted it under the FAQ section last week. Sorry about that, if it is possible to delete that post that would be great. I ported my family phone number over to FPL about a year and a half ago. In terms of stability there have been some hickups. For the mos...

Call forking would be great! Then my wife and I could have our Home Phone number ring to both of our own lines or cells. That would be amazing!

Re: Easing Call Follow Me restrictions

I would also like to lend me support to this request. We signed up our FPL numbers before the Dell service existed and when we travel I normally have my cell with a VoIP app. I would love to be able to forward my wife's FPl number and our shared "home phone" FPL to my single FPl number. Th...

Re: work with home security system

I had our phone system working with FPL just fine for about a month. I had wired our house phones to use our Linksys PAP2T device and everything was working just fine. It tested out okay, when doing test trips of our alarm system. But in the end, I got thinking about the real reason I was putting in...

Ideas to improve Voicemail MWI performance

I ported my family phone number over to FPL about a year and a half ago. In terms of stability there have been some hickups. For the most part it has been quite good. One nagging issue that I am reminded of constantly is the performance of the Message Waiting Indicator that changes the dial-tone and...

Are you saying your voicemail to emails containg the following information in the subject "Voice Message - Caller #5555555555". All mine say are "Voice Message". I would love it the subject could contain more information.

Re: Voice Mail Notification Very Slow

Jam: I am experiencing the same problem. It used to be 10 minutes but in the past few weeks (or maybe longer) it has increased drastically. And presently it is jammed on. I wish they would redesign the way that the MWI worked. You would think that giving users the option to "opt-in" for an...

Re: New voicemail message indicator

My MWI light has been stuck on for 2 weeks. I have really been hoping that FPL/Fongo would redesign the way their voicemail alerts are done. Polling all the accounts seems like a real waste of resources. Guessing they have throttled down the processing further and that is why the time has grown from...

Re: Voice Mail and Dial tone issue

I have had the same issues with a never-ending voicemail alert for at least 2 weeks now. I do not have any new voicemails and even when all saved voicemails are removed it still persists. I have just logged in looking for a manually way to trigger it off since it is obviously malfunctioning. Unless ...

An update. I turned off "Data and Time announcement" and that seems to have stopped the 'hanging'. For now this is what we will have to do. But, if you can please let us know when the voicemail hanging issue will be fixed, we would appreciate it - I'd like to turn this back on. Thanks!

Re: Voicemail problem

Hi Steve. I would like to also say this is a problem for us. This is our primary home phone and not being able to pick up messages using *98 is incredibly frustrating. I gave it a couple weeks of hearing complaints from family members, power cycled all the equipment on my end etc, and now and finall...

Re: Anonymous Calls

I don't think so, but maybe someone from FPL can comment. I actually just created a "suggestion" post about improving the MWI response time. For me it tricks me into answering because it can do the single ring up to 10 minutes after someone leaves the message. If this one ring was left rig...
