Re: freephoneline.ca doesn't work anymore
Is freephoneline.ca gone or something? A few days ago my phone suddenly stopped working and I can see that my SIP is disconnected. Rebooting my OBI device multiple times did not help. I don't think it is the device since it still works with Google Voice although I know that is not a fully strong pr...

Re: Feedback on technical support
Excellent service. I had an issue suddenly that I could not receive any calls, always "busy" yet in fact my phone was idle. It took me and the Fongo technician days to figure it out. Very sorry for the time and efforts, though I was at a loss why it should ever happen. I witness the endura...

Always busy signal when call in my number
Hi, friend, I bought the VOIP unlock key years ago and have been using the service for years. But suddenly no one can call in my number, always getting a busy signal when the phone is idle, nor can the call be auto-forwarded. Why always busy signal? I haven't changed my setting. The phone can dial o...

Re: why no voice response when call in
Yes you are right, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I meant to say that you would have to leave your ATA on. You say that you normally forward your calls to your cell when you turn your ATA off. Have you tried setting your calls up as ringing simultaneously in your online admin with your ATA number ...

Re: why no voice response when call in
Hi there, re->Too bad neither the voice mail nor the forwarding works if the ATA is powered off in the first several hours of ATA unplugging. That is unique with FPL I believe Jake already answered to this. Not sure if you saw the other thread. Thanks, Thank you, Sir. Not sure what you meant "...

Re: why no voice response when call in
Personally I don't think it should behave the way it is, but there you go. Your best bet will be just to dial *78 when you leave, instead of unplugging it. Then when you get back just dial *79. This will (should) force all calls to voicemail and no messing around with plugs needed. Thanks. I have t...

Re: why no voice response when call in
Thanks Jake for your explanations. Good. This FPL is certernly different from my previous VOIP provider which instantly could go to voice mail after I unplugged the power of ATA. Now, it can take up to several hours for your said "unregistering" process. Perhaps that is the FPL's bug. Than...

Re: why no voice response when call in
Thanks for your reply. Now, it worked surprisingly when I called back; yet in the past 4 hours, it didn't. So perhaps the service was really down this morning. I don't think there has been any update since the last time you brought this up. http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10082 I can ...

why no voice response when call in
I use Obi100 as my ATA and it was okay for the past month. I set up my voice mail correctly. Now, I turn off the power and leave home. But when I call my FPL number from office, I don't hear any voice message, no ring tone either, just dead silence, and then off. I suppose it should go to my voice m...

Is the service down today?
I am a free phone line user in Ottawa. I can't use my ATA to call or receive phones today, though there is a dial tone still. Just forever silence after I dial out. Can't receive incoming calls either. It was ok in the past weeks after I bought the unlock file and ATA. Strange. Any problem?

Re: Freephoneline - $50.00* - things you need to know
Great, Jake. Thanks. That is exactly what I expected! But as my current VOIP provider Comwave would charge me a rogue of $50 if I want to port the number to FPL, I will think it twice. Perhaps it's not worth it.
Thanks a lot, sir!

Re: Freephoneline - $50.00* - things you need to know
I have paid the $50 to buy the unlock key. It works on the new FPL phone number. Now, if I want to pay $25 to port my old number to FPL, can I still use the unlock key file to configure my old phone number? I don't want to pay $50 twice. Thanks.

Re: can't take voice mail when powered off
Thanks, Fongo Support. Yes, I confirm the problem now: when I unplug the ATA, incoming calls don't go to VM or get any ring until 1 hour later, if I set the "registration expires 3600 seconds"; and incoming calls don't go to VM until about 10 minutes later, if I set the "registration ...

Re: can't take voice mail when powered off
[/quote] Hi there, Can you please give an example of a Canadian VoIP provider where this feature works? Just to summarize: If ATA disconnected from power, both calls from FPL or other voip ++ PSTN should go to voicemail. Related thread- see below: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8078...

Re: can't take voice mail when powered off
Oh, so. Thanks for your reply. Is FPL trying to work on its solution? I don't quite understand your saying "it takes about 1 hour for the ATA to register when powered off", as the ATA can't work after power off.
It's very nice of you, sir, anyway.

can't take voice mail when powered off
Hi, friends, Why can't I take any voice mail when power off? In the past, when I didn't buy the ATA and unlock key, calls could go to my voice mail when I was off. Now, I just bought the unlock key and ATA. It is good when I power the ATA: voice mail can work if I don't pick up the phone. But if I d...

Re: Can't hear on the soft phone either side
Thanks your answers, but regret I was guided in a wrong direction. I have figured things out now and it has nothing to do with any hardware. Re: Can't hear on the soft phone either side
You'll need to call Bell and find out how to forward ports in that modem gateway, because that's probably what's causing your problem. Forward UDP ports 13000 and 13001. Also make sure that your windows firewall exception is set specifically for UDP ports 13000 and 13001 (I'm unsure how well it wor...

Re: Can't hear on the soft phone either side
Do you have the appropriate ports forwarded in your router, windows firewall and any other firewall software? If so, then what modem and ISP do you have? Thanks. I don't use any router. I use the Bell's 4-port modem "2Wire Gateway", as it's printed on the modem. Any problem? How to fix th...

Can't hear on the soft phone either side
I have installed the software phone. While I can hear the ring when a phone dialing in and then accept the call, I can't hear the other party at all; when I use the soft phone to dial out, the receiver can't hear me either. I tested connection, and it says: "Sound data transfer: Unable to send/...
