Auto-recharge of world credits
I got a warning email today about my world credits being below $1.25 (account was at $1.04). This is strange because I have the Auto-recharge option enabled and it should have automatically purchased $5 in credits once it dipped below $1.25. I manually topped the account up, but I am wondering why t...

Re: Device Not Registered
Had exactly the same experience a few weeks back, it only came back online after I had posted the problem. Two days ago we had another outage that time resolved on its own (along with an ATA reboot or two - but the reboots themselves didn't resolve anything immediately).

I assume you're measuring this using the most recent release? I remember an update last September that was supposed to cut usage from 1Mb/min to 0.5Mb/min.

Voicemail to email suggestion
The voicemail message I get delivered as an email currently has the phone number of the caller in the subject line like: Caller #<phone number> Given the number of us getting these emails on a mobile device and checking messages while away from home, it would be really convenient if you could includ...

My Grandstream ATA is flashing red and I have no dialtone with freephoneline.ca. I checked the fongo status page and all looks well. I have rebooted the ATA a few times and I can reach the web admin interface OK. I haven't touched the network/computer setup in quite a while now and it was all workin...

Re: No imcoming calls ..
Also had this problem this morning with two calls - one from 519 and one from 905 (I am in 519). The call log status shows "Destination out of order".
But I tried calling our home number from my cell phone and it rang normally, so it seems to be intermittent. I have also rebooted my ATA.

Re: Changing Audio Codec appears to fix most issues...
Interesting that a lower quality codec would actually improve your call experience so it seems to imply that your network was having trouble processing the PCM (G711) requirement of 64Kbps while G729 only needs 8Kbps. Have you tried a VoIP test like this one where you can compare the scores among th...

Re: use dellvoice in data plan only
I just starting using DV, I have a Samsung Galaxy S and an unlocked iPhone 3G for travelling. My understanding that DV only works when connected to WiFi, it won't use the data plan, I tried. Sometimes you have to login to 'open' web-sites to get DV working. The data plan should not have an impact on...

Re: Visa debit card rejected
Not sure why you think Debit would be accepted as a form of payment. In the online store, the Visa, Mastercard and American Express logos are shown as valid payment methods, but the card number is described as "Credit Card Number". That's not to say they couldn't accept it in the future, b...

Re: Reasons to ♥ Dell Voice: We've added free messaging.
I think the reason the messaging apps grew to be popular is because the carriers charged so much for SMS plans and users were afraid of going over their allotment. With a monthly subscription of only $2 within Canada, you are allowed an unlimited number of messages so it seems like a good deal to me...

Daylight time for the Eastern time zone changes the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, which was changed a few years ago to expand the interval we're on DST (and match changes in the US). So your time zone config string should actually be: 3,2,7,2,0;11,-1,7,2,0;60. But the poin...

FreeConferenceCall
My wife was trying to join a conference call hosted by FreeConferenceCall.com, but dialing the number produced an immediate busy signal. The number she was trying was 12096471000 and in our call logs it shows as "Unallocated (unassigned) number" in California. She was able to dial the numb...

Outbound busy signal and incoming calls incompl.. (resolved)
Anyone having an issue with Fongo/ATA service at the moment? If I try to make an outbound call it's silent and then busy. Others calling me rings our phone but when I pick up I can't hear anything and the other party continues to ring until voicemail picks up. Is there a service outage?

Re: Voice Mail dial tone but no voice mail
This seems to be a chronic problem with Fongo and the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI): http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2702 It is actually your ATA that holds the message waiting indicator and generates the message waiting tone to your phone. If you sign into your ATA administration i...

Dialing from contacts suggestion
In the contacts from the Dell Voice app I can select a contact which will place a call to that contact. I would like to see an option to not immediately dial the contact, but show the number about to be dialed on the Dialpad screen so that I can click on the World Rate button and see the charges to ...
