Re: VOIP knocking out the internet - HELP PLS!

Your Fongo service wouldn't be affecting your internet connection. Are you on a Cable connection or DSL? Both can provide their own connection problems. In the years that i have been working here, i have never seen our ATA's or any other connection method cause internet disconnects. If this is not r...

Re: The Phone Worked Intermittently After Switching ISP

CIKtel actually piggy backs on Rogers network. If i am not mistaken you will likely be using a Hitron modem. If you log into the modem, verify that SIP is enabled in the device.

Other than that, using a different modem should not affect your Fongo service in regards to reaching any destination.

Re: Extreme Choppy Sound...

Something you may want to try is running a ping test from your computer over the connection when nothing else is using bandwidth. In the past, i have seen a number of issues where it was related to jitter on the Rogers connection (Rogers does not guarantee jitter rates)

Re: Anyone else feel taken advantage of?

Essentially, the simplified version is that if you have a www.freephoneline.ca account, you won't be able to use it with the phone app. In order to use the phone app, your account needs to be signed up on www.fongo.com

Re: New Customer

It will also depend on if you are configuring the number into the thomson 784 modem or if oyu will be using an ATA device plugged into he ethernet ports. If you are using an ATA, you will need to run a SIP unbind command in the modem to enable the ports for the ATA. Doing this however will essential...

When it requests the password, it will be the same password you would usually use to access your VM.

Re: porting from bell

What are do you live in? It is possible we are unable to port from that location. Also, have you put in a cancellation request already with Bell? That would also prevent us from being able to port out the number. Hi, I registered with FPL Wednesday and also put in a request to port my number from Be...

Re: Hi all new here and 13000 port problems

Try giving permission to the softphone (specifically) in your firewall to allow it access. Ping test results show all packets are failling which could mean that the needed port is blocked.

Re: Can I change a new phone number

If you are receiving a lot of harrasing calls, contact your local law enforcement agency.
If it is telemarketers, tell them to put you on their do not call list and register for the national do not call registry.

Did you open the ports or did you specifically give access to the soft phone to be able to access?

I am locking this thread, this has been posted an umber of itmes in the forums as well as the resolution.

One such example, found by using the search bar in the top right corner as we ask people to do, can be found here.

A simple search of "Calls from 100" brought up a list of threads.

Through the CLI, it is possible to dissable it, but in doing so, you are removing the ability to use the SIP phone ports on the thomson

Re: Will the HT701 ATA work from a Thomson TG784?

The ATA will not work on the thomson 784 modem as the phone ports, like the ATA, are pushing through port 5060 to use the SIP phone settings.

The short answer to why you cannot port Manitoba numbers is tat we do not yet have a DID footprint in the area you are trying to port from.

What kind of ATA are you using? Most will have an option in them about allowing incoming SIP calls (term can change depending on the ATA)
