Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
Here an update on the OBi/FPL saga :D The OBi110 is installed, and after some help from the friendly community there it now works flawlessly with both FPL and Google Voice. Time for step 2 in my evil scheming  At one point I am going to port our landline to a prepaid cell phone, we call out...

Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
Thanks :D My evil scheme is not going too good, as hubby said today "NO WAY I'm gonna put one of them tiny mobile thingies to my ear" Yes I know, don't even say it! But I will order an OBI soon and at least we'll be calling out for free/cheap and he won't even have to know it

Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
Just a final note: I am Happy to say it's all been resolved... as usual, in a slightly different manner than I anticipated :D Instead of porting to Dell, I purchased the $50 SIP settings and can now use VOIP natively on my Galaxy Nexus. Now I'm going to be busy convincing hubby to drop our landline ...

Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
We're getting a bit off topic here, but our friends in the USA call our GV number. Our local friends call our local number There is nothing in life that is nicer than choices

I got a GV number in the US, they don't allow Canadian numbers unfortunately (I guess that makes Fongo happy though, haha)

Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
Thanks so much for looking into this, MIke, I will send you a PM shortly :D Dillpickle (nice name): "connected" is a big word... I've got a 403 number which GV forwards to. Not only have 403 numbers become rare, but GV does not allow to forward to NEW 403 numbers. So I'd like to hold on to...

Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
Should be interesting to see if there is going to be any official response... I tend to agree with TheHardy, it does seem there is not much innovation lately. I have always wondered why Dell Voice did not take over FPL outright... especially since they both seem to wander a different path now. We'll...

Re: Fongo Name Transition
It resolved out that YOU could transfer, but there was the normal PORTING fee even to switch from one Fongo service (FPL) to another (DV). Thanks for your reply, TheHardy, I'm sure we'll soon hear something official. I don't mind paying the porting fee, if that is not outrageous, or even buying the...

Re: Fongo Name Transition
Yes, of course. You may call in to our call center to transfer the number from one account to the other. I posted in another thread, but I must have done something wrong... it's not there  Today I finally phoned Fongo to make the number transfer, and I was told in no uncertain terms NO, we ca...

Re: What advantages does Dell Voice have over FreePhoneLine?
Well... I am tired of waiting for the Android app on FPL, so I called Fongo today to switch my number over to Dell Voice. The man was adamant that this was not possible... what gives? According to this post , "You may call in to our call center to transfer the number from one account to the oth...

Re: Fongo Name Transition
I already have a Freephoneline number, it is great because it works with Google Voice. In order to use Fongo/Dell, I signed up there as well. Now I have two numbers, the old one in Alberta, the new one in Vancouver. The Alberta number works with Google Voice because when you signed up to GV they co...

Ok... so... I don't get it  I already have a Freephoneline number, it is great because it works with Google Voice. In order to use Fongo/Dell, I signed up there as well. Now I have two numbers, the old one in Alberta, the new one in Vancouver. Can I merge the two accounts? Or just transfer Fre...
