Re: why was fongo down last night around 3am?

I cannot sell these mini outages. As a result, I am not as inclined to recommend service, if someone asked me today . Then I came to Clearpointel sister/brother company of Fongo. I have been using Clearpointel Voip service for well over 4 years now. I switched paying approx 40$ monthly and payed 50...

Re: why was fongo down last night around 3am?

Moving to Fongo has three stages 1. honeymoon: where people are so happy with cost savings 2. 3mo-24mo: honeymoon is over, some people complain, some accept, some drop out and go elsewhere 3. long term perception: this is generally a happy crowd: all those unhappy ones have moved on or accepted I am...

Re: Blackberry App is here!

I see app has been updated to 1.0.1. Initial release has been taking full of negative reviews on app world. I uninstalled 1.0 after an extensive effort to troubleshoot the issues as documented above. I'm hoping to see some changes. Downloading it now. Outbound call - no voice Reboot Outbound call - ...

Same here. Calgary. This time ping was dead and webserver was 503 too. It could been a server reboot.

Re: why was fongo down last night around 3am?

It was down last night and it is down NOW. I woke up to a reg failed message on both of my FPL lines, 4 other providers I have were unaffected. [4:16PM MST] It just came back. To be honest, none of my other providers have those mini outages. I have multiple ways of monitoring this and ping is usuall...

Re: New User questions with Fongo/dellvoice/freephoneline?

In your case, you may want to get a number and use softphone as a secondary to your main home line. I have similar situation with person in rural BC. The only reason she can't get rid of landline is because local people can't call her easily.

Re: FreePhoneLine Service (Fee ?)

If there is a change in fee structure for FPL I'm likely to look for an alternative. There are other guys who can give me $1 DID with 40mins a day which should cover my usage. My outgoing Canada-wide should be under $4. Good news is, this does not appear to be case at this time. Fongo Home Ph is for...

Re: use magicjack device with fongo

MJ I believe is 20+10(cad #) per year to continue. It does have free US/CA-wide calling but my LD to CA/US does not add up to anywhere near that. I'm mostly making local and international calls. I also prefer Fongo's ability to port in numbers. MJ currently do not appear to port CAD numbers. Basical...

Optimum registration refresh time

For last couple of weeks, my registration has been failing few times a day. Device I use came with very short refresh time from factory and I changed it to 300/600 seconds now. What is everyone's opinion on optimum refresh time, assuming there are no NAT or other issues affecting your device? With L...

Re: Does not work on BlackBerry All Touch 9860

This also happens on 9900 and I described it on another thread the day it came out. There is no voice after first usage. Both on Wifi and 3G using handset. Bluetooth makes it worse by killing regular phone audio.

All I can say is patch it fast. It is junk & I keep my expectations low at the same time so I'm just avoiding using the app at the moment.

Re: Blackberry App is here!

Unfortunately DV seems to require BIS or BES service to start app. On mine, I can't login with mobile network off. Do you have BIS on Prepaid? This may cause problem when I'm overseas running on generic SIM.

Re: Blackberry App is here!

To exit the app, go to the "Account" tab, use the BB button and select "Log out" As for the other issues, i will pass them along right away. Sorry for not making it clear. In order to troubleshoot the no voice issue, I tried exit & reenter the app using menu-exit: no success...

Re: Blackberry App is here!

Thanks for the assurance Mike. More observations: #1 No voice issue: App works good for the first call then when I try to use it sometime later, it has no sound. I can't hear the other side and they can't hear me. Phone dials ok but sends no data (no arrows blinking) once call has been established. ...

Re: Blackberry App is here!

I think they rushed the app (if you can call 3 months rushing) and released it half-baked ... :-( It would be nice if they would gather a beta tester group and let them try the products first to work out bugs. For one, I would been more than happy to provide direct feedback on BB app. With bug repo...

I'm on Wind Mobile. Have you had much success on 3G/WIND using the app? I currently don't have a supported device, but WIND's datastick and data in general leaves a LOT to be desired for me ... It's happening on both 3G and Wifi but tend to happen more often in Wifi. A workaround is login using 3G then turnon wifi - then I can use Wifi to make calls.

Re: cannot make call using blackberry dell voice

I noticed app is designed to takeover the BIS connection at startup. In the process, BB logo dissapears then reappears. If there is no bb logo on your screen you will get this message after you are logged in. Generally, green link light does not lit up in this situation. Now how not to get this mess...
