Re: Anyone with a SPA112/SPA122 have to reboot frequently?

Haven't had any problems thus far!

Try changing the following values in the router:

Voice ===> SIP ===> " Reg Retry Long Intvl: " to 30 secs

Caller ID and Cisco SPA122

Hello Everyone, I am asking for someone's expertise in solving this matter. I recently bought Cisco SPA122 (previously PAP2T for 4 years) and everyone worked well; I can receive and make calls but I came across a strange problem. I am able get callerid on my cordless phone while it doesn't show up o...

Re: No incoming calls since Feb-28 and call routing mess

OK, It is solved now. I mean it works OK for both incoming and outgoing calls. First of all I am pretty sure that even FPL support guy who solved that issue does not know for sure what and why happened. I mean why my FPL phone that worked fine since October suddenly stopped receive incoming calls o...

Re: No incoming calls since Feb-28 and call routing mess

I have exact same problem. I can make outgoing calls perfectly but cannot receive incoming calls. When the phone rings, its an utter silence. But if its from an FPL number, I can hear the person so I know everything is set up properly. This service has been working flawlessly for about 2 years and a...

Re: SIP Account on two devices

I could only successfully get it to work on only one of two devices. It steals the registration from each other. I even tried making another extension but couldn't get the 2nd device to ring at the same time. What am I doing wrong? That's great! - Thanks again! Here is guide how to: 1. Login pbxes.o...

Incoming Blocked Calls not working for Softphone

Hi guys, So basically I am a student and use the softphone for my primary communication. However, I have noticed after the Oct 6th upgrade that I cannot receive incoming calls that are blocked/anonymous/private. I hear the ring on the softphone but the pop up indicating who is calling does NOT appea...

Re: Oct 6, 2010 Upgrade-Related Bugs

My softphone after the upgrade doesn't seem to work too well when I receive calls.

Basically I hear a ring as if someone is calling but I don't get a popup stating who is that person is. I have to go to fpl website to see who is calling me.

Hopefully this gets resolved soon!

Re: SMS function

You might want to look at google voice instead. they can forward an SMS to your gmail. Sending SMS's are free also. The downside is that is will be an American phone number as of now, and to register you need an American IP. The service compliments Freephoneline rather nicely though. oh yea? The fu...

SMS function

It would be great if we could receive SMS on the softphone. I know that there are services that allow you to listen to text msgs via text-2-speech function. But receiving a popup on the computer while using the softphone would be even better. I am not asking to send text msgs from FPL service but ju...

Re: POOR CALL QUALITY

I agree. FPL has really bad call quality in the last month or so to the point that I cannot even understand what is being said. I am using codec G729a and I don't think it has anything to do with my settings. It was working fine before. Please admins we need suppport for this.

Number Porting from Rogers Cell Phone

Hi,

I was just wondering if I can port my current rogers cell phone number to FPL. If so, would I have to cancel my cell phone service (pay ECF of $400) or after the porting, can I just change my wireless number?

Re: Problem with the echo

Kris: I don't think echo has anything to do with the ports. In fact, it is due to the FXS Port Output/Input Gain : To fix the echo for linksys VOIP devices, you must go to ADVANCED VIEW --> REGIONAL --> change the following settings: 1) FXS Port Output Gain : 2 2) FXS Port Input Gain : 1 Play around...

you have to buy the config file from FPL for $50. That's the only way you can get the SIP settings.

If that's the case, then how come it is not encountered by all the FPL users? There must be some setting we can tweak to fix this problem!

Re: Wrong outbound CID

Kris, before I post this problem, I use the FPL to call my cell (rogers) about 8 time continuously, the 1st~4th call I got the correct number, 5th I got "blocked", 6th~8th I got 416-642-0882. So, if you can, try to redial, test it about 10 times, maybe you can reproduce the problem at you...

Freephonline Configuration Guide

I thought it would be helpful to create a guide for people who need to configure their FPL service.

I used a Linksys WRTP54G ATA.

Here's the link since I couldn't upload .pdf files here.

forward ports 13001 and 13000 and set Qos to highest priority to these ports (including 5060). This should fix the problem.

Re: codec of sip settings

1) check your QoS settings on the router! Make sure to prioritize port 6060, 13000, and 13001. It will fix the problem.

2) Use codec g729a. If you use a linksys router make sure to check 'yes' for using preferred codec only.

Re: Number Porting Messed UP

Prior to porting, I had a 416-367-73XX number. After the porting, sometimes the previously mentioned number appear on the party's caller id. But sometimes my correct number (ported) number appears. Now an "Unknown Number" is also observed. I check and re-checked my settings over and over a...
