Re: Failed Registration starting at around 10:30PM EST

I really wish they would update the SIP settings/register expires value on the desktop app settings page of the website. It's pretty evident that with all the changes setting register expires to 180 is far too low now. I've even tried 300, 900 but I still frequently end up with registration failed m...

Re: Who else is having issues with freephoneline?

Lets be clear here, FPL is a free service to the home user. But they make money off termination fees everytime a call terminates successfully on their end (hence the reason why you have voicemail). The key thing here is that FPL profits 100% of revenue from all sources while providing zero support t...

Extended Absence & Personal Greetings

I had a personal greeting recorded. Then I recorded an extended absence greeting. After going back into the greetings menu and selecting personal greetings, I chose to select my standard greeting again without rerecording (thinking it would be restored). Low and behold my personal greeting was wiped...

Re: Phone line completely DEAD

Unable to receive calls as of this morning- caller gets no ring, just a busy signal. No problems without outbound calls That seems like a configuration problem. For now try running STUN (eg. server stun.callwithus.com) as well as NAT Keep alive and NAT Keep Alive. Nope I disagree. Any Bell/Telus li...

I can make calls but can't receive calls (caller gets a busy signal - no ringing or VM).

Re: Phone line completely DEAD

Competely down here. I noticed that the IP for the server changed to 208.65.240.44 sometime today. Rebooted the ATA in case it cached the old IP but no luck.

Re: FPL Support (or lack thereof)

I don't know how you will get refund that you paid one time for service only and you don't have to pay for monthly phone bill any more Any charge to a credit card always goes on the card as temporary for 2-3 days until the transaction has settled. Within that timeframe it can be voided and it is ac...

Re: Reregistration of SIP fails - initial registration is OK

Changing registration from 180 to 3600 worked, for now. Having it on 180 for the longest time and it was working just fine, so not sure why yesterday it didn't wanna be nice :( Where do you guys view the registration failed messages? So for me, it was under the Voice menu -> Information -> Line 1 S...

Re: Phone line down again?

Are you serious? lol I guess they're not giving free support for a free service anymore. I purchased the unlock key and also buying long distance credits, so I wonder if paying customers get the same kind of support. What I can tell you is that I purchased a VoIP unlock key, long distance credits, ...

Notification of Service Interruptions

Since FPL users are not entitled to support, it would be convenient to have a notification based system (whether indicated on the first page after user login) or via some telephone support line notice / announcment of service interruptions. Heck, even an email sent to the registered account holder w...

FPL Support (or lack thereof)

How about adding pay per incident support for FPL? Its very discouraging when you call the Fongo&FPL support number and at the voice prompts you indicate that you are a FPL customer that you are directed to the forms here and your call is promptly disconnected. This is especially true when the i...

Re: Phone line down again?

Looks like this is the same issue being described in the thread I started http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7260 so check it out. increasing your register expires value in the ATA might help if you have it set to a lower value; it worked for me. Its not clear whether FPL made changes to...

Re: Reregistration of SIP fails - initial registration is OK

Hi Jake, Just a thought here, but if they were implementing some kind of UDP connection throttling on the server end ...... your packet could be dropped outright and make it appear as though the connection timed out. At the time my register failed I was running an ICMP to sip.fongo.com (208.65.240.1...

Re: Reregistration of SIP fails - initial registration is OK

automatic re-registration succeeded after changing the timeout to 1h (3600), so it seems the question remains as to why it was suddenly changed, it's still advertised as Registration Expires: 180 to 3600 on the FPL -> App Settings -> Settings -> SIP settings webpage We will need to know what the new...

Re: Help for deadspots

I'd certainly be intrigued to see how things change when they switch to Start in a week (which luckily isn't that far off). Random drop outs like that would definitely make me lean towards some sort of jitter or packet loss as the prime suspect. Have you tried a VoIP test on their setup? http://mys...

Re: Reregistration of SIP fails - initial registration is OK

This only started happening either this morning or last night. Why could...

SIP Protocol

Is FreePhoneLine planning to offer the TCP transport for use with the SIP protocol? It seems that this would help many users with poor service due to TCP retransmission nature that UDP does not have where users experience any packet loss > 0% where they are unaware of or unable to resolve the packet...

I'm trying to get my parents setup with the same FPL service I am currently running so they can switch over from Bell permanently. I have no issues with my FPL. However my parents are having issues that I can't seem to isolate: I have tested my FPL inbound and outbound and have experienced no dead s...

Don't cancel inactive number and make FPL more profitable

I just called to port my existing bell phone # over to FPL today, but I was a bit saddened to learn that after 90 days of inactivity FPL will cancel my home number that I paid to port over after this period of inactivity. Now it's pretty unrealistic that I'd not use the service to make a single call...
