Re: Voicemail: What worked for me, plus Questions
Thanks for your work around solution. I had similar voicemail issues. For now, I just plugged in my old answering machine as a backup. Question: You wrote: "forward to email" to "copy" What does "copy" do? I did like the forward to email option, so ideally I'd like the ...

Re: I love freephoneline! THANK YOU!
I agree, I also love Freephoneline. I'm very thankful for the management & staff etc, that make it all work so well.
I've been using FPL for about 1.5 years, and I'm most satisfied with the service. I recommend FPL/Fongo to my friends.

Use Fongo Mobile how often to keep active?
I use the Fongo Mobile app on my android smartphone. I don't use the mobile app often, say once a month, typically when I call long distance. Do I have to use my Fongo mobile account within a certain time-frame or else will the Fongo system deem my account as being inactive and shut it down? i.e. if...

To the original poster, what I did to update my credit card info was just to buy another $5, and at that point it let me update my credit card info.

Thanks Fongo for your Android Fongo App
Just a short note to say 'thank you' very much to the Fongo team for your free Fongo android app that I recently installed on my smartphone. I use the latest version (3.0.6) and it worked so well that I purchased the ad-free version, for the very reasonable upgrade price of $1.99. I also have freeph...

Re: Missing First Few Seconds
This past week, I'm getting this same problem as others here. It's an intermittent problem though. Sometimes it works, other times not. About 50/50 chance of it happening. (problem being, I dial out, and sometimes I don't hear a ring tone, just silence, but my phone finally just connects when the ot...

Re: Random IPs calling us
We can't help you if you don't tell us what ATA device you have. However, for example, if you have an OBi device, yes you can block 'em. Here's how... in the OBi's settings, you change Voice Service >> SP# Service >> X_UserAgentPort to a number that's not 5060. You need to put in some random number ...

Re: why is freephoneline such a SCAM?????
I feel the same way, stevenao.... I appreciate Fongo's efforts.
I buy long distance credits with Fongo, and do so to support them.
I want Fongo to succeed!
The level of service provided by Fongo is most reasonable, all things considered.

Re: why is freephoneline such a SCAM?????
To the original poster... I'm in no way affiliated or associated with Fongo / FPL other than being a satisfied customer of their FPL service. Normally I don't get involved in these sort of trivial things, but come on, stop with the libelous "scam" nonsense. Fongo/FPL is not a scam. You los...

I get that too, from time to time, with my Obi100....
I'm not sure why either.
I have now changed my Obi100 settings to conform to the latest requirements from Fongo.

Re: Weird calls from 1001
I have an Obi100. I had this problem too with bogus calls (they are sip scanners / hackers that take advantage of the port 5060 default used with many VOIP devices). I solved the problem by logging into my obi settings, (and in Expert settings) then go into Voice Services, then SP1 (assuming SP1 is ...

Thanks for informing us of scheduled maintenance
Hi fongo, As a fongo / FPL user, I appreciate that you gave us advanced notice via email and also on this forum, of scheduled maintenance being conducted in the early hours of 02/11/13 and 02/12/13. This is good to know. Letting us know reassures me that you are (a) properly communicating to your cu...

What have you done so far to troubleshoot? i.e. have you tried anything like resetting your ATA to default values and then re-entering in the SIP info? Power-cycled your router, etc?

Do you have an address with an apartment number by chance? If so, I found that if I entered in the credit card address info a street address format like 123-5555 Street Name (123=unit number and 5555 street number).... then it would reject. but if I entered 5555 Street name and then on the line belo...

DHCP is off in the ATA. I have port triggering and port forwarding set up on the router for the ATA. Where would I get the DNS info from? Re: short buzzing noise when I pick up phone
Success. Initially I had used the recommended settings from Freephoneline to put my ATA (OBi100) at a Ring Tone Frequency of 52 and Ring Tone Voltage at 90. By going back to my ATA's defaults of RingFrequency: 20 and RingVoltage: 70, I now no longer get the buzzing problem when I pick up the phone. ...

Re: Cannot make calls - Obi110
Thoughts: - Are you dialing out with 10 digits? (you need to put in the area code, regardless) - Are you using a router with a firewall blocking your Obi from talking to the world? - if you're doing the above all correctly, then for experiment purposes, try setting it up via obitalk and see if it ma...
