Re: Sound Cuts Out for Half a Second Randomly
magicray, the issue is not so much something broken on our end, our server simply isn't handling NAT and RTP proxy the way it should; Doesn't it mean something *is* broken on your end? this can be solved on the users end, yes. However that is for that user only while we are trying to get a global, ...

Re: FollowMe Call Display Problem
I find this very frustrating. Most of my friends won't answer calls that show up as "unknown". I do the same, since the majority of the time it is a telemarketer. So outgoing calls to the majority of my friends is now useless on FPL. I completely agree. This issue is more serious than it ...

Re: Can't set outgoing callerID from asterisk?
This was done to cut back on the abuse happening from people impersonating other numbers when calling out. Our apologies for the inconvenience, unfortunately most people were using this for bad and not good, so we had to disable the functionality. Has this been disabled recently? It was working fin...

Re: Incoming call coming as UNKNOWN
We are in the same Geographical area and have the same area code both our FPL and the Rogers Phone. Which device are you using with Rogers? I'm facing this problem only with my iPhone (on Fido). With other devices (same SIM card), this seems to be working fine. I'd suggest try with a different devi...

Re: FollowMe Call Display Problem
What other changes have you seen with caller-ID recently? The one change I noticed is that, till about a week or two ago we were able to send custom caller ID. Even though this was never a feature but it worked. Now it no longer works. It always shows FPL number or no number at all, so this was obv...

Re: Incoming call coming as UNKNOWN
This seems to be geographical right now I can't make it happen on a single rogers/fido cell phone I have access to in kitchener, and believe me, I've been trying lots. Did you happen to try an iPhone (particularly 3G/3GS)? I'm facing this issue only on iPhone. The moment I switch my Fido SIM to a d...

Re: FollowMe Call Display Problem
by calling the rogers home phone and having it work, then calling the rogers cell phone and having it not work, your test results are showing this is a problem at Rogers' end and not ours - as our systems, like I've said in a few other posts here tonight - are sending out caller ID just fine. It se...

Re: FollowMe Call Display Problem
Some interesting findings... Initially I thought this problem is related to follow-me because of which, the calls forwarded from FPL to my cellphone (Fido/iPhone) are not displaying CallerID/CallerName. However, I realized recently that my wife, who has similar follow-me settings (FPL forwarded to h...

I too have been experiencing this issue since last week or so... Has something been updated on the server side recently that might be causing this?

Re: Forwarding to FPL from another SIP
I think there are two things worth considering here: Incoming SIP calls would really be a very small percentage of the total call volumes. The reason being, it's not that straight forward for an average user to use this feature. To do this, you'd either have to create complex dial plans for use with...

Re: Forwarding to FPL from another SIP
Did the information I provided help nail down this problem at all?
If you need me to make more sip-to-sip test calls, please let me know.
Thanks!

Try connecting to the console on sipsorcery to view the call setup logs.

Re: Forwarding to FPL from another SIP
Okay, so here's what happens when I call SIP URI 1xxxxxxxxxx@voip.freephoneline.ca: The SIP call initiation request does get across to voip.freephoneline.ca, but the problem is that Sippy wants these incoming SIP INVITE messages authenticated! Instead of passing these requests over to the registered...

Re: Forwarding to FPL from another SIP
Gizmo5. It lets you add other SIP users as contacts and make free SIP-to-SIP calls. For example, I can call my CallCentric # by adding 1777xxxxxxx@in.callcentric.com as a SIP contact. It's even possible to dial out SIP URIs straight from the ATA device by using services like SipSorcery to create a c...

Re: Forwarding to FPL from another SIP
Does that mean that once you get around to activating this service, it would be possible for the other SIP users to make purely SIP-to-SIP calls to FPL phones by using URI 1xxxxxxxxxx@voip.freephoneline.ca (that is, without getting PSTN involved at all)?

Forwarding to FPL from another SIP
What's the SIP uri to forward calls to FPL from another SIP account?
1xxxxxxxxxx@voip.freephoneline.ca doesn't seem to work. Is this even supported?
Thanks!

Is is possible to do the other way round (that is, forward to FPL via SIP uri)? I can't get my FPL phone to ring by calling 1xxxxxxxxxx@voip.freephoneline.ca.

Re: ATA configuration
Based on my experience, the softphone works for most setups out of the box, where as, ATAs almost always run into problems with NAT traversal (no incoming calls, one way audio, etc). It would be great if the softphone configuration is completely documented so that one could try to match the ATA conf...
