Re: Break up of sound
I'm kind of in this situation as well. People keep telling me that I sound like i'm under water. I performed a full reboot of modem/router/ata and still it is happening.

Re: How can I disable auto-renewal for LD credti?
TheHardy, It's quite simple. They will loose out on more money with future purchases from their clients. I bought $20 of credits with FPL to help support FPL and the awsome service they have, and I can find better and cheaper long distance with VoipDiscount with their 10 Euro (~$18 CAD) top up for 1...

Re: One-way Sound, Incoming/Outgoing Call
This sounds like it's your router's firmware not playing nicely with SIP traffic over NAT. Since I can't find your model on the dd-wrt website as it's the integrated voip device, try looking for an update to the firmware.

Re: Can't connect to login server
If it's DMZ'd at the modem, your modem is not just a modem, but a modem router, and you'd be double natting if you put it behind the router (with default setups) - modem dishes out 192.168.2.x, which then goes to the modem that dishes out 192.168.1.x. Also, it would be best for you to log into your ...

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
@johnboykw, I was thinking about double NATing from modem/router to wireless router, which I've seen so many people do both intentionally and unintentionally. The way my setup is at home is Modem > Wireless Router > ATA.... Modem is a dumb modem, wireless router get's public IP, and ATA has a DHCP R...

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
I'm curious, does the DD-WRT router get a public IP? Have you tried setting a static ip for the ATA?

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
I have a similar issue to this one, but instead of using an ATA device (which I'm planning to get in the near future), I'm using the softphone (software programme). My setup is very similar, but I use the Linksys WRT54G v6 router with firmware v1.02.8 on it. Sometimes, the audio is sped up and I of...

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
Don't be scared of DD-WRT. It turns a residential router into a business class router with many more features. It is currently the software of all residential devices that are limiting features that the router can handle, to separate residential from business and therefore set the pricing lower for ...

Re: intermittent audio when calling out
Flash your router with DD-WRT - http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
The 3rd party firmware works WONDERS on routers and yours is supported as long as you have hardware version 1.1 / 1.4.
The issue you're having with audio will be solved by this.

Re: Newbies should not be allowed to post until verified.
That's not a good idea. I own a website and I too get this kind of spam. What they need to do is create layers to weed out spam bots. I own IPB, so I have it set with captcha + challenge / response questions. Since I've implemented both layers, I've had a 99% cut in spam. When I start getting spam a...

Is your cable modem acting as a modem/router? and double NATting is playing games with you? Do you get a public IP within the router?

Re: Incoming Calls No Audio
It sounds as if your Router is not playing nicely with NAT. Are you using the default firmware? Have you updated your firmware of your router? DD-WRT is available for some versions of your model. Check out here http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database for the info. If your version is supported...

Re: Can't connect to login server
It sound's as if it's your router crapping out the NAT tables in it. What kind of router do you have? Perhaps it's DD-WRT or Tomato flashable.

Re: Caller ID Call Waiting + Call Forwarding
You need to make sure that the PAP2T is ANSWERING the call in less than 30 seconds (approx 6 rings) for the features of it to work. FPL's will automatically go to voicemail after 30 seconds unless you use the follow me feature. There will be a setting somewhere, but I don't know as I don't have the ...

Re: the phone line stopped working
If it can't connect, but line 2 can, then it's most likely your router not playing very nice with SIP over NAT. Make sure you have your ports forwarded (they are in the FAQ). I would also look for an update to your Router, and if it's supported, flash it with either DD-WRT or Tomato (3rd party firmw...

Re: Intermittent audio Grandstream HT-286 ATA
Once again, speed has nothing to do with Quality of Service needed for VoIP. Any wireless Internet cannot warranty QoS. I rebuttle this statement At work we have a line of sight technology, 100% wireless with a radio antenae on our roof. We have a PRI that gives us our phones, however we have a sip...

Re: Finally bought some FPL LD Credits
I stand corrected - I now see that. I purchased them last night and it didn't update right away. It says that you can use them right away, so I figured there was an automatic area where it would show up, but I guess it's when they invoice it that it happens.
