Re: No Dial Tone FPL
Try to set your 1st and 2nd Preferred DNS Servers to:
8.8.4.4
208.67.222.222
Reboot and test. If this doesn't solve the problem, change it back.
Try to change your Primary SIP Server to voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060.
Outta ammo.

Please double check that Register Expiration is set to 60. If not, correct it. Then, unplug your ATA for one hour to allow bans to expire and reconnect. If Register Expiration was already set to 60, the problem must be something else. Please try to change your Local SIP port to 39527. If this works,...

Re: Nothing out or in
I just tested voip.freephoneline.ca; it seems to be working. Check to be sure your device is configured as per the official guide: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16090 . In particular, make sure your RegistrationPeriod is set to 3600. If the problem returns, try to change your X_Use...

The settings to look for are:
Line tab >> CWCID Serv: Yes
User tab >> CWCID Setting: Yes
If CWCID Setting is set to No, it's possible you accidentally dialed the CWCID Deact Code.

Re: can't hear other side voice when make call or receive ca
Since the port forwarding did not work, please disable it as it introduces a security risk. Let's test to see if a SIP ALG is causing the problem. Please set: Primary SIP Server: voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 Local SIP port: 29295 If that does not work, please set the following. This is for testing pu...

That is unfortunate. If that happened to me I would downgrade my internet connection and rent a seedbox with the money I saved.

1. Should I enable QoS in Tomato right away? My understanding is, it's only required to solve the choppy voice issues. I'm thinking I can keep QoS disabled for now. I can make people I talk to complain that my voice is choppy just by using a web browser while on a phone call. However, my upstream a...

Re: service down or just me :)?
First check your FreePhoneLine call logs to be sure the problem calls do not appear there. If they don't, and since this problem affects inbound calls from multiple carriers and is reproducible, I think it is reasonable to open a ticket for assistance. Re: Asterisk -- Trunk Registration Timeout
Not familiar with FreePBX, but for plain vanilla Asterisk the settings would be, In the [general] section of your sip.conf: defaultexpiry=3600 registertimeout=120 Unfortunately, this cannot be defined per-peer. If your Asterisk is behind NAT, set the following for your FreePhoneLine peer: qualify=yes

I suspect (but do not know for sure) they both use a similar iptables-based firewall, so would perform in a similar fashion. For your consideration: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28267904-What-is-your-favourite-router-firmware-for-VoIP-use Of course, you can always try them both out and see what ...

Re: service down or just me :)?
I once had this happen with a D-Link router that for whatever reason considered VoIP "attack traffic" and shut down the internet connection. Since upgrading to a router with Tomato, my VoIP has been trouble-free. It might be helpful to state which router you have. That way, if someone here...

Re: WRT54GL router - which firmware?
At least with Tomato firmware, this will not be required. I suggest you test your service without port forwarding, and then reduce security only if necessary to make things work.bridonca wrote:Make sure the ATA's RTP ports are forwarded to the router, and all should be good.

Re: service down or just me :)?
You can split your registrations up over voip.freephoneline.ca, voip2.freephoneline.ca, and voip4.freephoneline.ca, and also increase your defaultexpiry.
Note that if you are making outgoing calls, registration may not be required.
