I guess your DSL connection has a long latency coming from a long ping time.

Ping is not an accurate depiction of either latency or jitter, especially in it's default run, though the response you get from a ping is related to latency there are much better ways to test your network. For instance, view the set of tests used by postmeon at the bottom of this page:

And don't always jump to your ISP as the hickup, especially if you're using wireless to connect in the home. I've seen some poorly maintained networks, or even decent networks on a bad day, where there's upto 4 seconds of latency between the wireless client and the router/accesspoint. Which you cannot (legitimately) blame your ISP for.

Re: Long pause before connecting other line
Is this before actually connecting the call, or the ATA? If it's the call, try hitting # after dialing the number. If that works, paste your dial plan in here and I'll modify it to dial right away, after those 10 digits.

Wow, I am suddenly getting this as well. Also, incoming calls are sometimes going straight to voice mail.mohnashaat wrote:happened with me several times since wednesday night, nothing changed in my internet conenction. not will all calls. silent before hearing the ring tone,, not a problem of a dial plan
