SPA3102 and *67; freephoneline issue

Post by Liptonbrisk »

When I dial *67 and my cellphone number, my freephoneline number still shows up.

Does anyone have *67 working properly with a SPA3102?

*67 no longer works on my pap2 either for about a month now & from the responses i've seen from FPL it appears either they dont believe it a necessary function or *67 only works now if purchase ATA from FPL, classic bait hook & switch otherwise i'd get this functionality back instead of having to be flamed or chastized,,, watch

*67 does indeed work.

"It appears either they dont believe it a necessary function or *67 only works now if purchase ATA from FPL"

First, when I said "I don't believe it's a necessary function" I also went on to explain that I acknowledge some of you need it. On this topic my views are not of FPL but of myself; we as a company are continuing to make our service the same if not more functional than a regular POTS or other VoIP service.

Second, we do anything to our ATA's before sending them out except configure them for you. I believe there was a misunderstanding when I said "We only provide full technical support for devices purchased from us", this does of course not mean that we somehow disable it for all other users that have not purchased our hardware.

What would make it suddenly stop working where it worked once before, if this were not an issue with freephoneline?

For me, it doesn't work with softphone ("not under tariff plan") nor SPA3102 nor PAP2. Tested my number with a network admin's ATAs as well. He couldn't get *67 to work either with my freephoneline number. Yet *67 worked perfectly fine with another voip service.

So under what conditions does *67 work with freephoneline?

Block CID Act Code: *67
Block CID Deact Code: *81
Block CID Per Call Act Code: *68
Block CID Per Call Deact Code: *82

*67 and *81 appear to do nothing

There are some businesses and restaurants (even take out pizza places) that I used to call that stuck my phone number on their telemarketing lists.

So, you're saying *67 will only be provisioned to work properly if you buy an ATA from freephoneline?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't on my account. If you use your settings as specified at http://forum.freephoneline.ca/download/file.php?id=14, *67 produces "this call is not covered by your tariff plan". That's with "Block CID Serv" set to "no". And with it set to "yes", the call goes through, but nothing is blocked.

I called in and was told that http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic ... 6149#p6149
is the reason *67 isn't working for me.

Yes, it was I who actually informed the agent of this. If you re-read the post I've commented on it.

As part of the e911 service FPL has disabled the Caller id blocking feature, I have seen that discussion in another thread.
