you should check with web site admin.
When other forums started reporting I checked. It was not working, Softphone not working. I was not only one.
get your facts from server admins. at least for one hr.

Re: http://www.freephoneline.ca/ Down??????
Sounds to me like you're experiencing DNS/routing issues if you're having intermittent connection problems to the website as well as the VoIP service.
Windows?
Start > cmd >
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Shutdown
Unplug modem
Unplug Router
Wait two minutes
Plug in modem
Wait one minute (Until sync light is on, and all other lights have settled.)
plug in router
wait one minute (until WAN light, and all LAN lights have settled.)
Turn on PC
wait for desktop to be completely loaded
resume your day as normal, take note of any specific issues, if they are intermittent, try to intentionally recreate them.

"Number out of Service" message
New wrinkle on the dropped call problems.
A number of people have reported trying to call me and getting an "Out of Service" announcement. I didn;t really pay too much attention to it.
I called home from work today and the call dropped after about 3 minutes. I waited about a minute, then called back, and got a "Number out of Service" message. I waited another minute, and the call went through OK.
What is it that causes the "Out of Service" message?
To me it seems to indicate that the FPL Network appeared "Out of Service" to the Telus network I was calling from work from, and that the call may have been dropped in the first place by the FPL network due to some sort of problem.

Re: http://www.freephoneline.ca/ Down??????
They sure have problems. I sent PM to Steve but no reply.
They don't even acknowledge that there may be problem.
I don't like this. Last few months the service is going downhill.

When I call my line it just hangs-up. It is a free service afterall but some clarity would be cool.TSellers wrote:Hmmm...

8-4 for those trying to reach me, limited after-hours support (I lead a busy life outside of here). Urgent issues should be phoned in, my PM box gets overwhelmed fast some days and I can't guarantee a speedy response time.
Admin is making an announcement on here right now. Some hardware has needed replacing and we have teams on-site in Toronto making these fixes right now (been there since around 4:30). Freephoneline is running on some redundant systems right now which may cause intermittent issues for some of you. ETA to a fix is before bed-time.
