fpl with other long distance access dial

Post by fzaman »

I want to add my fpl number to my existing long distance provider (g3 telecom). I added the number to its access dial list. But when I call using fpl, it doesn't look like g3 recognizes this number. It asks for a password. Its working fine from my cellphone. Can a voip phone not be used as a access dialer? Does anyone know?

Are you using call ID block? Try calling another phone and see what shows up on the call display. It works perfectly with our two-stage dialing long distance system - which is in partnership with worldline.ca

Steve,

the original poster, myself, and others in the past have experienced the same issues. Outgoing caller ID displays your correct number, sometimes displays nothing (Blocked or Unknown) and other times displays 416-642-0882.

From what FPL has mentioned that it is your generic number. I find it very hard to believe that a company of your caliber can't pass along the correct (i.e., originating number) to the terminating end through your PSTN "link".

I use G3 myself, and have the exact same issue!

FYI, I'm using PAP2-NA, and have never blocked outgoing caller ID. I experience the same issues when calling cell phones (Rogers, Fido and Telus) and other landlines (Bell, Rogers and even office phones {not sure who the provider is}).

Does FPL have a solution to this random incorrect caller ID issue?
