Re: Outside Canada
settings should be able to remain the same.
Just it's your requirement to update your 911 information on your freephoneline.ca profile as soon as you are at your new location in the United States. Any accounts with invalid 911 info will be shut down.

Would depend entirely on your internet providers and routing in Europemaherc wrote:What about Europe? is there any blocking for IPs or just plug it and I can dial out to Canada.?

However, we do not provide any support for out of country use. So if you're in another country and it doesn't work then we are unable to help. Keep in mind some countries across the world will block IPs/Ports and filter their internet data pretty strictly. I know people have gotten our service working in Egypt, China, Germany and the United States.. however I'm not sure if it was plug-and-play for them or not

Re: Outside Canada
I was in Europe couple of months ago. My softphone worked for a day. But then it stopped working. It would just say "no connection to the server". Didn't have time to capture packets and see what the problem exactly was (hey I was on vacation). But it's likely that you have detected my foreign IP and denied access.mindabsence wrote: We don't block anything

As for ISP, no they do not block or filter any ports. I've used softphones with other providers and ATA (actually 3 of them) and they all worked fine. Only FPL wouldn't register. When I returned back to Canada, it registered right away.
Not a big deal, service actually works very well here and I always have back up providers when traveling.

Re: Outside Canada
It might have been something from the network/ISP in europe. I know that we do not block anything for a fact because we have several regular users in Germany, China and Egypt (people who are residing there for extended periods of time and using our ATA/softphone to be "local" to those at home)zombie999 wrote:I was in Europe couple of months ago.
