Upload problem

Post by sebassss »

Hi,

I am using an ATA and it works great. Except about the part that ppl ear me choppy sometimes. Must be the upload since i have many computers thru the gateway. My connection can go up to 820k/s in upload. Is it normal?

My configurations:

ATA: Innomedia MTA 6328-2Re

Please read the forum rules, this was posted in the wrong section so I have moved it.

Upload of 800kbps is just fine. Fibernetics has PBX clients running multiple SIP lines on 512k upload and there are no problems at all!

Try adjusting your jitter buffer levels in the ATA. Also make sure the RTP packet size is 0.020.
It could also be a port forwarding issue on your router too if other traffic is interfering with the SIP packets

1- Could jiffer buffer named registration expiration date?

2- Where is the RTP packet size option

3- Where do I find the router ports?

Thank you.

1. Jitter buffer would be separate from expiration state. Expiration state should be 3600. I'm not familiar with your ATA.. it's possible that it uses an adaptive jitter buffer that the user can not change

2. My unfamiliarity with this ATA means I can't answer this question either - perhaps we have some other users using this ATA who could chip in?

3. Somewhere in your ATA settings it will say the UDP ports it operates on. From there, you'll need to configure your router to forward all traffic on those ports to the IP address of your ATA. The IP of your ATA will also be in the settings OR your router would show it in the config pages.

I found the UDP ports. I have to enter an external source port, internal source IP and internal source port and application. Also, I can download a configuration file on the ATA settings. Should I download it?
