I have some wireless phones on my line and when I try to dial with them, I have to go off hook (talk) first and wait a second or two before I get dial tone, then manually dial the numbers. If I dial the numbers first, then press talk, it tries to send them as soon as I press talk rather than waiting for the dial tone. Is there any way around this?

Re: Dialing from a phone on hook
Well from what you described it's a setting on the phone, probably "Sec before dialing" or something like that.
What kind of phone is it?

Re: Dialing from a phone on hook
As it turns out, the original post here wasn't the problem. I can't actually get a dial tone at all on my phone connected to my ATA. It was working a couple days ago when I last used it. I haven't changed any settings in my ATA. The log from my ATA says it can't connect to the login server. Is there an outage?
