dlink dvg 2001s configuration problems

Post by danidanilian »

Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I have been with FPL for a year and everything was working perfectly since day 1. two days ago, i changed my internet provider and now i cant get voip with FPL. i was having problems getting the ip from the ATA so i reset the ATA to factory defaults. when i press **1 it gives me my dhcp ip address, i go there but i cant find "voip"...there is only LAN..i"ve tried everything..there is no place for me to put the configurations settings from FPL.

Please help.
Thank you,
Dani

I will look at shots of the actual ATA tomorrow, but what I'm thinking is you are looking for voip and there is a "Voice" tab, or "Other Services".

Could you post a screenshot of the configuration? - Or email if you have information you don't wish to share on it.

My best guess looking at complete screenshots is that your device is locked by the previous provider.

You SHOULD see this:

the device was unlocked, im sure about that, i've been using it for a month. do you think because i reset to factory defaults it's locked now? is this possible that it locked itself when i reset to factory defaults. how can i fix this, should i just update the firmware?

Resetting to factory might have put it back to default - depending how it was unlocked? (am not too familiar with that...)
I know with our DSL modems, if you press the reset button on the back, it will reset back to our pre-loaded settings for your account. Keeps things fool proof that way and makes troubleshooting much, much easier. Depending how the D-Link was initially programmed, it might have similar behavior. But like I say.. I know nothing about how device unlocking is done.

please someone help me..how can i know if my ATA is locked or not?

i dont think it's locked, i can go in and change everything. everything seems normal except the fact that the voip option is not there under the advanced settings. i've tried everything ! i've tried changing the ip adress of the router..putting static ip on the ATA, using ppope on the ATA..nothing is working..it's been for a week now..

I've looked through the same router and it does look like it is locked - Try going on the DLink website and downloading the new firmware and uploading it to the router.

You can probably adjust the ring tone, frequency, duration in the voice section.
