Outgoing call limit reached message

Post by new936 »

Today I am getting "Outgoing call limit reached" message when I try to dial local telephone number :o

Is there any change in Freephoneline policy or what? I heard that Acanac has some limits, but never had this message before on Freephoneline in 2 years :?

Thanks.

We do not impose any limits, so this is definitely an issue being caused somewhere outside our network on the call you are trying to connect.

Please contact our support team with full details of the calls you made and they will open a ticket for investigation. Please have called to/from examples along with the date and times of a couple test calls.

Thanks

Thanks Steve for your clarification. Today I have not received that message, so let me wait and see. I will contact support if it starts again.

For your information Steve...today I have experienced the message when making a few calls giving me the message as stated in this topic. I try again in about 5 mins and all goes through fine. They must be doing something in the network or this is a problem slowly developing. I encountered it about 10AM and now at 1PM, on known good destinations that worked fine in the past.

Thanks

Catching up on some old posts, this is not, as Steve pointed out, an FPL/Fongo issue. What _kind_ of number were you calling? Was it the same number over and over that you were experiencing the issue with, or was it with multiple numbers? Landline? Wireless? VOIP? Call-fwd number of some sort?

Just curious, as there have been some other error messages that other users have reported, and it would be good from a support side of things, to try to narrow down what is causing the problem based on type/ownership of number.

Any other information such as the CARRIER of the number as well as it's TYPE would be helpful ... Rogers, Telus, Bell, Fido .... landline, wireless ... etc.

I know one of the numbers was a Bell Canada line. I am not sure of the other, but none of them were VOIP or Cellphone lines. I have not experienced it since the information I posted so hopefully this is just a random problem that perhaps has cleared itself to the random destination numbers I was calling. Nothing else I can report at this time.

Sorry I am of no help on details of the destination numbers.

No worries -- if it has resolved itself and is no longer an issue, then that is GREAT! :-)

Sometimes things just work!

If you do have issues again, or have something that is not quite right, details details details is the key to helping others to solve it and track it back to figure out WHY. Most times, just the first 6 digits (NPA-NXX part) will be enough to troubleshoot MOST problems (allows you to maintain anonymity with the LINE #, as there are 10,000 combos!).

The only time that it doesn't work out to help too much is on PORTED numbers, where additional information from the OWNER of that number may be required to troubleshoot.

True enough. Not to worry. Still think it was a "receiving"-end problem and not an FPL issue. Glad that it has not come around again!
