The form is part and parcel with the purchase of number porting. When you make the purchase over the phone with our rep then he/she will send you the form.

I just had my number ported from Bell Canada which was started on the 14th of March. The service rep. attempted to confirm he could port my number in their system but indicated he couldnt. I told him it was odd and he said we could go ahead with it in hopes that is was possible even though he could not confirm it possible. He indicated that if it was not possible I would be refunded my port fees. No form was sent, it was all done verbally while talking to the rep. He confirmed my information being owner of the Bell Canada number and then said, one moment he would transfer me to a recorded system and I would be required to answer the questions as prompted which basically will be my LOA verbally. I did so and the rep said that was it and wait 2-4 weeks for it to be completed. I rec'd an email the next day indicating from network services that they had rec'd the request and will notifiy me when it was to take place. On the 19th of March I rec'd an email from network services again indicated porting will take place on the 22nd. On the 22nd I rec'd an email indicating porting had been completed with details not really clear but bascially indicating my SIP details but no different than I had been using previously with FPL. I knew enough to change the User ID over to my new ported number and basically that was it. My ATA registered and services were active.

So the porting was very quick basically 14th of March and completed on the 22nd of March, without filling any forms out just a recorded authorization on the telephone call to customer service.

I followed up with Bell Canada to confirm that the service was inactive and advise them to terminate the account. They indicated that services had been terminated and will take at least 3 months for all the billing to catch up.

So thought I would let you know that apparently there is no form to complete to port unless it all depends on the carrier you are porting from.

Interesting! Maybe some new procedure they are putting in place to automate things?? Glad it went flawlessly (well almost).... the hiccup about not portable and then PORTABLE is annoying. We've had many a thread about an online portability widget thingy to verify --- seems like THAT would have been helpful!!!!!

:-)

Glad you are ported over and BELL -FREE!!
