Re: Perfect settings or I have missed something?
If you want to set a static IP for the linksys so it doesn't get a new IP assigned everytime you reboot it/your router then do the following:
In the configuration window switch to admin view and advanced view
In the system tab you'll see a "Internet Connection Type" area. Here you can turn DHCP to "no" and assign a static IP address, gateway and netmask.
I haven't done this myself yet so I'm not sure if there's anything extra required or not.
Other than that, your settings you point out all looked good to me!

Re: Perfect settings !!!!
Why you ask us:
Ring Tone Frequency: 52
Ring Tone Voltage: 90
Because in the PAP2T-NA manual its show:
Ring Frequency: 10-40 Hz
Ring Voltage: 40-55 Vrms
Ring Tone Frequency: 52
Ring Tone Voltage: 90
Because in the PAP2T-NA manual its show:
Ring Frequency: 10-40 Hz

Re: Perfect settings !!!!
That is the typical ring for most analog phones, everything besides the dial plan, TTL, Account ID and SIP password are customizable.
Digital phones will have lower or higher frequencies and voltages based on the phone. Analog phones work like an old doorbell - A piece of metal goes back and forth between or against metal bars or a ring. Digital phones use a speaker with limited ring voltage/freq.

Re: Perfect settings !!!!
Thank You Tony!!!!!!
These settings work great for me.....changing the SIP port, enabling the outgoing Proxy, etc. my setup is working great. I was having issues with receiving incoming calls, but after I applied your settings no more issues.
This should be a sticky or something, and or update to the PAP2T-NA instructions to incorporate these settings.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Ken

Re: Incoming/Outgoing Fix - As Posted By "tony_qc"
i have spa3102, which is similar to spa2102 and the pap2 in line 1
i have some questions:
1- do i have to use the outbound proxy (what is used for) ?
2- why setting making and receiveing calls without registration
3-under Supplementary Service Subscription: Cfwd All Serv: and Block CID Serv: why set them to No (what are their effect)
4- can u explain how to use Cfwd when no answer ?

1- No you don't have to, it is recommended. If it's set to "No" it will find the most convenient path to your destination, and not use our direct proxy.
2- This means that your phone must verify that it is valid before answering a call, this takes microseconds.
3- Those are irrelevant to most users, only those who use our 2-Stage LD dialing need to keep it off.
4- Cfwd is to be set on your FPL account, online.

Re: Incoming/Outgoing Fix - As Posted By "tony_qc"
Thank you Kris for ur reply, well about ur 3rd answer, i am subscribed with a long distance provider where i dial an access number, then the other party recognize me and give me a dial tone, then i dial my international number, in this case does those setting affect me? as u say it is mainly for 2 stage dialing users, can u explain more their function
about the last point, i know i can make cfwd from my account, but i can do it withe the ata with more options, but i cannot use it, it gives me a busy tone. i saw on another forum, that when u set a cdwd on the ata, it is not the ata who fwd the call (even if it is fwd all calls or when no answer), what happens is the ata send this information to his service provider and the latter fwd the call, so the server or the provider must be able to do it. unless i use the gateway 0 (in spa3102 gateway zero is the PSTN line) it works coz it is fwd through the ata and the pstn line and the server has nothing to do with it. this case i try it and it works.
thanx

With the 2-Stage LD calling, you call an access number which needs your CID number to recognize your number to authorize it on our system (NO PIN CODE) then you just dial whatever you want according to what your plan allows. -- Canada only or CDN, US, INTERNATIONAL

Re: Incoming/Outgoing Fix - As Posted By "tony_qc"
Block CID Serv. for 2 Stage Long Distance, is just a precautionary measure, but should always be done.
Cfwd Serv. needs to be either enabled on your ATA or in the dial string.
I believe our servers ignore "redirection" requests from the PAPT2 since such requests could easily be abused to make free international calls.
BUT
On my Snom m3 DECT Phone here, I can forward a call just by pressing "Forward" then I get a dial tone and when I dial a number it's automatically forwarded.

Re: Incoming/Outgoing Fix - As Posted By "tony_qc"
I tried the suggestions from the post link above with limited success. Every time I go in change Ring Frequency and Voltage it seems to work for a time. But after a little while phone calls will no longer register. People who call me from a land line claim to get a busy signal or straight to voice mail. After I go in and change it again it seems to work for awhile, but then I am no longer able to receive calls after a while.
Other info:
I use a different preferred codec that FPL instructed me to use otherwise I get poor sound quality.
I am using a Uniden cordless phone can this be the problem?

Re: Incoming/Outgoing Fix - As Posted By "tony_qc"
I had the same problem the other day, every time I rang home I would get a busy signal. When I finally got home, no one was on the phone. They could however phone out without problems. I re-registered my PBX with the FPL server and everything worked fine. This is the only time this has happened, so I just put it down to 'one of those things'. Somehow the PBX did not register correctly with FPL, but why I was getting a busy tone I don't know.eastman wrote:I tried the suggestions from the post link above with limited success. It happened with me as I left the softphone open... rule: once you use your ATA, don't start your softphone... you cannot register simultaneously 2 devices with FPL.
Also: you may check your voicemail by calling your own phone#.
