Well 73738#1 factory reset's the device - I would leave in unplugged for about 20 seconds then plug it back in. Minus calls going straight to voicemail was the ATA working before the reset?.. Do you think it could have been a power surge or outage?

Power supplies/outlets almost never just 'die' there is a surge or arc of some sort that may or may not affect your device - But it's something to think about - Think of the good old days when your computer shut off randomly because of a little static!

That is odd, they should... but that is just my opinion.

When I tried to upgrade the firmware on my PAP2T-NA the ethernet connection timed out, which is what I think you're experiencing. I'll try upgrading my firmware when I get into work tomorrow and tell you how it goes!

What I further learned from reading posts my unit and most units sold on ebay and hong honk kijiji craiglist are shortlived they
often break with small power surge or resets and I couldn't get firmware recovered because the serial number and mac address
are cloned not genuine If they were genuine recovery tool would have done the trick,............................below is from a post..

If the lights are blinking in the following pattern 3 short blinks, 2 long blinks, 3 short blinks,

then there may be hope for you. This pattern means the firmware is corrupt and the adapter is

booting up with the fail-over firmware. This firmware is a smaller one designed only to allow

flashing of the main firmware. To recover it,

you would need the PAP2 firmware recovery tool and pray that the serial number printed on the back

of the unit matches the one programmed in the flash (it did not match in my case). If the serial number

is good, you just enter it in the firmware recovery tool and the tool should do the rest for you.

If the serial number is not good, then you need a hub to sniff the packets coming from the adapter.

You should see some ARP requests showing the IP address of a TFTP server that the adapter is trying to contact.
Then if you set up your

computer with that IP address and set up a TFTP server, you will see the name of the firmware file

that is looking for. Finally, take a valid PAP2 firmware, rename it to the file your adapter is

looking for, and the adapter will grab it and update its firmware and then boot normally

If any1 know how to sniff

Two options, it's ARP, so a good chance that it will simply write to your ARP table in windows with a direct connection.

Just open a command prompt (Start > Run> CMD > Open) then type "ARP -A"
You'll see a list of IPs and MAC addresses, some dynamic, some static. This is likely a dynamic one... but will certainly be a private IP none-the-less. (Likely Class C 192.168.x.y)

If it's not showing up there, then you'll need a "network protocol analyzer" I'm sure you've heard of some of these tools before, such as "Wireshark"

I find this one:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/smsniff.html
(Smart sniff)

to be fairly user friendly/straight forward.

But you're not me, and may prefer Wireshark

http://www.wireshark.org/

This may work as well, though it's not an analyzer

Sorry, I had expected you already had a walk through on using Telnet and TFTP.

If you're lucky you can telnet into the router, which is usually built into the windows command line applets.
Just open CMD again (Start > Run > CMD > Open)

and type: Telnet 192.168.x.y

If you are able to connect try typing "help" or "?" as a command for a list of options...
My hope here would be at least that you can see the directory list "dir" so you know the file names.
I don't have a PAP2 to look at to build a walk-through for you unfortunately.

As for TFTP, a client for using TFTP in Windows can be found here, commonly used for flashing various routers by the DD-WRT community.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/downl ... p.exe/2236

DD-WRT is designed and tested for standard non ATA-Routers, but the same methods should apply, so I suggest having a look at these TFTP walk-throughs here:
