I found this and the only thing you need to do is fill in your FreePhoneLine settings where it is "red" if this helps anyone.

I've been using this for a few days, it's got excellent call quality and multiple codec support.
Uses some really odd dial-string by default, I haven't bothered to figure out what it does :P

I can't seem to get this software to work. I'm putting the settings in wrong obviously.

Can someone help me out with this.

In SIP Account Settings i have put this:

Display name: My Name
Username: my phone number
password: pass
authorization user name: my email
domain: voip.freephoneline.ca

I also checked off 'register with domain and recieve incoming calls via proxy' address: voip.freephoneline.ca

When i try to make a call - it tells me "that password is not valid"

the password has definitely been typed correctly.

Pleaseeeeeeee help! Thanks in advance.

You've bought our $50 config file to have SIP usage enabled on your account?

I am sorry for scratching my head, but what is the point? Freephoneline already has a somewhat competent soft phone already. I have played with xlite before with other VOIP providers, and though it works, there is not much amazing there.

There are some decent SIP ATA's for about $40, and then there is this toy. http://cgi.ebay.ca/New-Unlocked-UTstarc ... 2306de0ca5 that you can get in Montreal. I know this stuff costs extra, but it is worth it.

Oh yeah, to go to this link to purchase the sip settings. http://www.freephoneline.ca/activatePhoneLines

Do you have to pay the $50 in order to have SIP function at all?

I don't need the config files, I just want to use whatever client I like. I use Bria by CounterPath.

Thanks,

Keith

Yes, to use any device other than our software phone you will need to purchase a configuration file.
