Most cell providers have a SMS gateway (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways) where you can send an email to a special address and someone will get it via a text. Now I know that anyone could just send an email directly to the phone, but I know I like to keep all my messages in one app and hardly ever use the email app for messaging unless I have to.
I think it would be fairly easy for Fongo to implement, as well as being another feather in the cap, so that people can email to 16135551234@txtdv.com and for Fongo to redirect that to the text app. Also to go the other way, and allow us to send texts to email addresses from within the app.
This would be a very good way for Fongo to be able to add in a few lines of text to any emails sent from the app advertising DV.

Absolutely! Can't believe this hasn't been done already. Just came from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways and signed up here so that I could do a search for "sms gateway". That's what brought me to this post!
Just finished reading that incoming text messages are always free to receive. But how are they supposed to get here if there's no sms gateway! Something must be wrong here. Will continue to search for it. Will reply here again if I find anything.
