Mic making a strong buzzing/chopping sound

For more than a week Fongo Mobile has been making a loud ear-splitting buzzing sound when I call someone or they call me. My neighbours and a few of my family use fongo mobile and two of them report they've been having the same issues.

Does anyone know what could be conflicting or causing the problem?

We've all got the latest Fongo to v3.6.0.3

see what happens when you plug in headphones with a mic. I suapect the problem will go away.
