I think something is wrong with my FONGO device because I hear crackling on the phone line every couple seconds and this happens whether or not it's connected to the internet (router turned off).
I can't use my brand new Fongo until this situation is rectified.

Here are the changes I've made and still no solution:
1) removed long phone cable from phone for a short one.
2) moved power plug to wall outlet instead of power bar where Router is plugged in.
3) Changed phone line cable connected to phone and Fongo device
4) Changed original cat cable connected to router and Fongo device for a different one
5) moved Fongo device many feet away from router (which has wifi turned off)
Nothing has worked. I still hear clicking every few seconds on my calls.
Any other ideas of what I should do?

You have posted this under the Fongo Mobile section, which is for the app. This might be why you have got a lack of responses.
I assume from your posts now that you are a Fongo Home Phone customer.
I think the only other thing I would try in your case is a different phone, but I have a feeling it might be the ATA itself.
Can the person on the other end of the call hear the crackling? That might give you an idea of where it might be coming from.
As you are a Home Phone customer you can get support directly from them. The forum is full of great people but at the end of the day the support here is just from other people like you and me.
What you need to do is open a support ticket with them on their ticket system > https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
