How to stop Android app from closing

After updating to Oreo on my phone, I find the app keeps getting closed. I have tried overriding all battery saving functions on the Fongo app but it doesn't seem to be working.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

To prevent it from closing, you can lock the app in the app switcher. See this forum post for more details:
