IP address on Windows version

Post by JamesK »

I have noticed that when I start the Windows version of Dell Voice, I am asked to select which IP address to use. The choices are either my actual LAN address or a 169.254.x.x link local address. Dell voice should recognize that the 169.254.x.x address is not suitable for use, as it is limited to only the local LAN. Also, in this day & age, Dell Voice should be supporting IPv6. I run that on my local network and all computers have IPv6 addresses (even my Android phone gets one) yet Dell Voice doesn't seem to recognize it. IPv6 is the way of the future and essential to get best use of VoIP.
