Travel with phone outside of Canada

Anybody travel with the phone outside of Canada and makes calls to Canada?
How is the reception? Is it good?
Is the call still free since you are calling with your own Canadian number to Canada (but are physically outside of the country).

I would like to hear some feedback and stories.

I know if works in USA because quite a few Fongo home phone customers are going to Florida for the winter and they bring ATA with them.

My parents are outside canada and they use fongo every day to speak with me, I feel that they have a real home phone. it needs only a high speed internet. here in canada my provider is https://www.bravotelecom.com/fr-CA/four ... entiel.php

I have travelled to Cuba, which has perhaps the world's worst internet service. But with Fongo I am able to call friends and businesses in Canada, no problem,on the poor bandwith that is available. So I think Fongo will work well from nearly anywhere, to call Canada. I have also used in in Chile and in Argentina, to call Canada, works well.
