Will be doing that soon as just read that is a good thing to do with voip services.
SIP ALG can affect ATA registration and cause 1-way audio issues, but SIP ALG does not affect volume.
What else could be giving me high volume on fongo home phone.
TX gain setting in the Grandstream HT-801 ATA
Any settings i need to change?
The problem is that I've never used Fongo Home Phone and don't know whether settings are locked out or eventually overwritten by Fongo's provisioning server anyway.
I'm not sure whether this is the login process for Fongo Home Phone provisioned Grandstream ATAs:
1 Dial ***
b) Then dial 02
c) Enter the IP address you hear into a web browser.
d) Login to your ATA.
Default login password is admin
That's usually the process for logging into unlocked Grandstream ATAs.
2. Navigate to FXS Port tab-->Gain: TX
The default is 0. You can try lowering it.
Loudest volume: +6dB Lowest volume:-6dB
Maybe try -3dB. If that's still too loud, try -6dB for TX gain. Find a value that works for you.
3. Then click "Apply" and "Reboot" if those options exist.
Again, I have no idea whether the TX gain setting is adjustable for Fongo Home Phone users or whether whatever you enter there will just revert back to what Fongo's provisioning server has that value set to (if any).
If that doesn't work, then submit a ticket:

You can check your ticket status by logging in at
