Busy signal

Post by s.ouellette »

I just transfered my number today (2012-11-26) and the line does not seem to hand up? I have two lines with FreePhoneLine and the other number, given to me by FreePhoneLine, seems to be working fine. So, when calling the newly ported number then hanging up, my ported phone keeps ringing long after I hung up. Why is this happening? I removed my existing number from the ATA device thinking it could be in conflict and this did not resolve the issue. The other problem is that sometimes it is like the line never hang up so all subsequent calls to the newly ported number all get a busy signal. I can live with the phone that keeps ringing after the person hangs up but I can't live with the busy signal. So, what I am to do?

Hi Stephane,

Are you using the soft phone application on your computer or an ATA device? (If using an ATA, has it been updated since the porting was completed?

I found another post where the user did the following to fix the same problem "NAT keepalive Enable to "on" and also the NAT Mapping Enable to "on". " This has fixed my problem.

The only annoying thing left is that my phone does not stop ringging even if the person hangup. Is this another ATA setting?

Also, I found that *98 is for voice mail. Is there a list of *## commands somewhere?
