Incorrect Password?
i received my ATA in the Mail, connected it as per the provided instructions, had dial tone but could only dial out. So after investigating the Troubleshooting Forum: No Incoming Calls with ported number, I followed the instructions to reconfigure the ATA. As directed I changed the Self-Defined Time Zone on the Basic Settings Page, then proceeded to verify required setting on the FXS Settings Page. All highlighted fields were the same as what was suggested, except for Authenticate Password under SIP User ID. I did not know what this was, thought it might be my Voicemail Passcode and inputted the number. Again, ALL other highlighrted field matched the required info. I updated the settings and rebooted the ATA. Now I have dialtone, but cannot place or receive calls an get a automated message when i try to dial any number which says "that is not the correct password," then disconnects. My wife wants my Head !! as she did not want to change our Service Provider and now she is not receiving any calls to our ported number. Please Help Urgently !!
Gracias

Re: Incorrect Password?
Hi dutch,
Couple things to check if you are looking into your configuration or have changed anything. When you input your number again, did you put the 1 before the area code and manually type in the SIP password? (copy paste has a tendency to add a space at either the begining or the end and you might not see it)

Re: Incorrect Password?
It sounds like you need to enter your account number (username) and password correctly. You voicemail password is going to be the wrong one.
If you have ported in your number, then it will be that number will be your account number (username) with the initial 1
You will then have to go and look for your password. If you have not been emailied it, look online in your admin account to find it.

Re: Incorrect Password?
i received an email confirming Number Porting had been completed, i see no mention of a password. i have checked all received emails and see no mention of a password. i have logged in to my fongo account and see nothing pertaining to password under my Account Info or Settings Fields. the only password discussed anywhere is my Voicemail password. Please Help.
Thankyou
when i was following the reconfigure instructions provided and opened the FXS Port Page, ALL the highlighted fields had the proper info already displated by default, except the Authenticate Password 2 lines underneath SIP User ID. this is where i inputed my Voicemail Password. After i rebooted and tested the system and it failed, i went back in and left the field blank. I still cannot find a password anywhere!

Re: Incorrect Password?
can someone tell me where i can find my SIP Password? i see nothing under Account Setting except personal info, Name and Address stuff
Re: Incorrect Password?
I don't have Home Phone so I cannot log into the Fongo site - but on the FPL site when you first log in there is a settings link at the bottom, then from there I have a SIP SETTINGS page. My details are on there.
Maybe someone with Home Phone can point you in the right direction if you can't see it, or maybe a Staff Member. Do you see App Settings, or Desktop App as a tab link anywhere?

Re: Incorrect Password?
Negative. I see nothing, but i appreciate your suggestion.
Under Account, I only see the following, Online Store, Account Info, Settings, Messages & Logs. i have searched each of these fields and see nothing related to SIP Password.

Re: Incorrect Password?
Well with support as it is not, the only thing you can do is PM Mike or Steve and as them for help in getting it back, unless someone with Home Phone knows where to find the details.
It is Friday though, so you might be out of luck for a few days. You never know, one of them might pop by.

Re: Incorrect Password?
This is exactly what happened to me.dutch wrote:dial any number which says "that is not the correct password," then disconnects.
And the exact reason is you putted your password wrong.
Your SIP password is not the same as your portal account password, and so far the only way I know to get it back is Messaging Mike.
The SIP password is not written anywhere (for Fongo Home Phone customers, not FPL), you have to ask for it.
Lost my password, and this morning Mike called me and gave my password back =)
As for incoming call issue, see if this post describes your issues:
