easier remote voice mail access

Post by jdjanze »

right now I have to dial a 10 digit "remote access number" then wait a few seconds, then dial my 11 digit phone number, then wait again, then enter my 6 digit password - all to log into my voicemail. 27 keys, with a couple of breaks in between... that's gotta be a new record! :D

Would it be that hard to forget the whole access number thing, just dial your own freephoneline.ca number and when the recording directing you to leave a message after the beep comes on, you can just press * or something before the beep and then it asks you for your password? That's how I did it back in the 90's and I confess, those extra 10 buttons don't really agree with me.

I'm not complaining, I'm happy to press those 10 buttons for my free voicemail, it's free and it's useful and I'm glad I have it but it would be awesome if you didn't have to go through the access number to get your voicemail.

We'll definitely look into if something like this can be setup in future or not. Right now, it's a design limitation within the system itself, but I agree that it would be much easier that way and will certainly pass the suggestion along!

Side note: Don't forget that you can always go check your voicemails through the website and also get a copy by email.
