So what to do now?? This is getting VERY VERY tedious. And WHEN is a solution going to be provided? I'm not a computer geek and can't understand any of the discussion in this thread. All I know is that my phone isn't working!!
This company doesn't seems to be very serious about service. Strange indeed that DELL seems to be the major sponsor! So once again, what do I do??? Since any answerer here is not the one responsible for this mess, it seems fair to thank you in advance...

This is half an issue RE: the DellVoice softphone, and half an issue regarding Oracle's Java updates. If you read elsewhere online, or even in this thread, you will see that java programs have been slowly breaking as new updates are released. Part of this is because functions which have been deprecated over time are finally being removed, but programmers who learned to use them were still relying on them.
I'd be interested to know if the programming team for the DellVoice soft-phone is in-house at Fongo/FPL or at Dell, as it seems to follow different design standards and functionality than the Fongo soft-phone.
It wouldn't be correct to say that Dell is "the" major sponsor, but they are one Fongo partner, and a fairly recent one at that in the grand scheme of things. (I've been with Freephoneline since 2008.)
The forum here, you must remember, is an unofficial channel for support, and I urge you and everyone else to (calmly) call the support line, and explain the issue you're having. They may ask you to do troubleshooting, if they ask you to change your Java version and you're unwilling to, simply explain that you have other applications that rely on the current version of Java (this is likely true anyway.)
If the voice requesting this to get fixed is large enough, then it is likely to garner the attention it requires more quickly.
While there are a number of FONGO official voices in the forums, they cannot be expected to be here at all times, nor can all complaints made via the forums be expected to reach the necessary decision makers. The forum really is a community driven project where people such as Hardy, Jake and myself take the bulk of the questions, and await verification on official matters from the FONGO crew.
Steve and Mike seem to be especially active and responsive, and we're grateful to have them, but their primary job positions lie else-where in the inner workings of the Fongo/FPL service, and should remember they are here because they choose to be, not because they are paid to be, as such they get my utmost respect, both for the obvious love and faith they have for this Fongo/FPL project, and for their dedication to the end users.
