Incoming Calls are down?

Post by MathieuQC »

Hi there,

For some unknown reason, all my incoming calls are sent in my voicemail without any ring. Am i the only one having this issue? It started 2hours ago.
In my logs : 0:07 29.01.13 18:33:22 29.01.13 18:33:29 Destination out of order

I can make phone calls without any problem.

Thank you,

Before reloading SIP:

Code: Select all

FPL/1613729XXXX 208.65.240.170 5060 OK (31 ms)
Calls not hitting my system, so time to reload SIP:

Code: Select all

FPL/1613729XXXX 208.65.240.165 5060 OK (29 ms)
So, registered to a different server, but the calls are still not hitting my system. And the status page says all is well......SHOCKING!!!! LoL

I should start a poll and see who actually thought the status page would be accurate. HAHAHAHAHA

I'm going to Wireshark a call and see if they are even sending anything SIP related to me.....aside from a Register response.

Well, while doing some Wireshark captures it started working. Not sure what to make of it. Will just chalk it up to the expected weekly outage. :)

And down again.

Wireshark trace at my firewall shows no incoming call from the FPL server when my number is dialed. Something is up in those crazy Fongo offices today.

Does this make any sense????

Code: Select all

From To Duration Connect time Disconnect time Disconnect reason City Cost
81977XXXXX	1613729XXXX	0:05 30.01.13 10:51:46	30.01.13 10:51:51	Normal call clearing $ 0.00
81977XXXXX	1613729XXXX	0:05 30.01.13 10:51:46	30.01.13 10:51:51	Destination out of order	Ottawa ON	$ 0.00
And BTW, the proper answer is NO. LoL

1. The call doesn't even make it to my server, yet my line is registered, I can see this on the Asterisk console.
2. Why is it showing 2 calls? I only placed one...

Maybe, just maybe, Fongo staff will jump in at some point. I feel like I'm having a conversation with myself. Porting is looking more & more tempting every day, but the whole free thing kinda keeps me here, although I'd prefer the service was reliable like it was the past 2.5 years.

The second call will be your first call being sent to your voicemail. It has always shown up like that in the logs (I think).

Ahhh, that would make sense. *WHEN* the call makes it to my Asterisk server I answer right away and send Ring Back to the caller then send the call to a local mailbox as I use Google Speech to Text transcription on my mailboxes. So that explains why I 'normally' only see 1 call in my logs.

Now, if we could only get *that* call to the server...

Incoming call down and up since last night! Outgoing no problem.
The SIP status is "connected" from my ATA or FPL account, the call log has lots of "Destination out of order", why?

I lost all incoming calls as of this afternoon (Thornhill, ON). I had no problems with my FPL service until this. I tried rebooting but didn't help. Is this a server issue?

My calls seem to be working now that I am registered to the .170 server. If I get registered to .160 or .165 my calls don't come in.

My incoming calls have been down since Jan 22. When I call to my fpl phone, it goes straight to voice mail. Is everyone else having this issue?

I have this issue as well, you'd think that they'd chime in by now, or atleast update their website to indicate incoming calls are an issue.

I am experiencing this issue too Outbound worked inbound goes to VM
For last couple of days i have noticed that FPL services has gone down significantly and response time is nil to fix the issue.
It looks like when you apply changes to the server they are not testing it properly

Problems here in Quebec 418-XXX-XXXX
Using asterisk ... the phone is down ... unable to make calls or receive calls.
For several weeks already service is very random ... sometimes is working ... sometimes not ...
Hope that this issue will be resolved soon.

I think the issue is only related to Asterisk. Not for software or ATA. I guess FPL is blocking Asterisk.
Anybody experience the same problem with ATA?

They do block the Asterisk useragent, but that is easily got around.

I had trouble with my Elastix PBX yesterday where one line was working perfectly, but the other would not accept incoming calls. I disabled the trunk and loaded the details into a sip phone and still had the problem.

From what I could see in my testing the account was 'stuck' server side somehow. On the stuck account I tried to change my useragent, but the update would not show online. The working account though changed instantly.

I did PM fongo_neil and it started to work 4 hours later. Although he did warn me that he was too busy to look into it, and in fact didn't :D It just started to work again on it's own. I still don't know what the problem is, but from what I saw I am pretty sure there was some problem with my account on their servers and did not have anything to do with my PBX. Now it could be that the PBX is somehow causing the server to jam up the account, but that is well beyond my basic knowledge.
