Calls straight to VM today ...
All incoming calls to my FPL number are going straight to VM, was working fine last night.
Been using the service for months without any issues, and I didn't change anything from last night to this morning.
I've powercycled my ATA and router, but no change.
Placing outgoing calls works fine.
Are there any issues with the FPL servers today?
Thanks,
Mike.

No noted server issues today
Did you setup port forwarding on the router? If you did in the past, power cycling them will likely have reset the IPs, unless you have statically assigned the ATA?

Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
Just check my configs, I didn't set a static IP on the ATA, but the router is giving the same IP to the ATA as it was before.
Port forwarding is enable, and forwarding to the correct IP.
Like I said, I didn't make any changes on my end from last night to this morning.
Seems a bit strange.
Any ideas why this would happen all of a sudden?

Are you using G729a or G711u? Use preferred codec only should be set to 'no' as well.jovan1 wrote:I have the same issue.

The issue above, as I just PM'd him back, is a SIP 488 error because the device is trying to use a codec not supported by the server.. why that just started happening is unexplainable. Check yours and let me know - if this is the same thing, I'll have to send a bulletin out and see if we've made any changes. I haven't received any phone calls about it all day though.

Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
Ok, I'll give that a try when I'm home later, but good to know it worked for jovan1.
I do remember setting my pap2t to use prefered codec only as I thought that was required, thought it was in the setup info here.
Or I might have seen that in someone else's setup here.
But should be easy enough to fix.
Thanks!

Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
strange but worked, it would be interesting to know what went wrong.
FPL is great otherwise, but i think for a non technical person these kind of glitches could be hard to fix.

Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
I agree, service for me has been mostly pain-free since I've had it.
But setting up was a bit of a pain, so I can understand why the companies that charge and supply the ATA's keep them locked!
Tried to ask the wife to change the settings, told her I'd guide her over the phone but she just laughed at me
Guess I'll have to fix it later

Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
I also just received this little bug.. but turning the preferred codec off seemed to fix it :S
Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
I had the same issue, incoming calls going straight to voice mail.
As posted I am running G729a and I had "Use Pref Codec Only" set to "Yes". I changed it to "No" and the calls started ringing through! So the line is working again!

Incoming calls go to Voicemail even put pfr'd codec in "no"
Hi,
All incoming calls to VM since I finished the confuguration on Sipura 1001. Placing outgoing calls works fine.
I double checked the configuration to ensure that the configuration matches the general annoncement. Everything seems fine, I also put preferred codec in "no", but it still doesn't work for me.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Nil

Re: Calls straight to VM today ...
Hi, starting from last weekend, the incoming calls go directly to voice mail. It was alright before. Right now, my phone did ring only once and the caller id is displayed from each incoming call. The settings of my PAP2T is followed exactly from the ATA Config - Linksys PAP2T (02-24-10).pdf as the preferred codec is G729a and Use Perf Codec Only is set to no.
I wonder who can tell me what is wrong?
Thank you.

I changed the the prefered codec to "no" and it worked.
does this mean this is THE fix? or just a temporary by-pass?

For most users, it is THE fix. There have been a few whom it has not worked with - Another thing, if you are using a SpeedTouch 780, or any other SpeedTouch or Thomson VoIP device, try entering this into the telnet prompt: ... If not I can do it for you if you PM me your number.
:voice codec config type=g729 ptime=20 vad=enabled priority=2 status=enabled
As I've found that worked with my TG784 at home... As for my Cisco 7941, well... I'll have to figure that out.
