long 20 sec. delay after call made and hear the rings

Post by rajajis »

My line when I dial out long about 20 seconds remains silent and then I hear the ring going on the other end.
What could be the setting I should look into. Thanx in advance.
PS: Pap2t 5.1.6 LS Line 1 FPL Line 2 MJ.

I noticed this when I dial only the 10 digit number. There is a way to change it in your dial plan but that's a bit advanced for me.

The simple solution that works for me is just to add the "1" in front of the number or a "#" behind it. Then it will dial out immediately like a regular phone line.

Adding the "1" in front of it is not an issue if you are worried about long distance charges because FPL will only allow you to dial it's version of "free local calling across Canada" anyways - anything that would count as long distance or any additional charge on a regular line just gives your the "this is not covered by your tariff plan" message on your FPL.

Hope that wasn't too long of an answer for you.

I believe in the simple wisdom of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I have no problems with adding the "1" in front of the 10 digit number and I am guessing that has resolved Rajajis's issue. Maybe Rajajis can let us know if his problem is solved.

You may also add 'S0' after your 1xxxxxxxxxx string in your dialplan (paste yours here if you can't and I'll do it for you).

S0 means as soon as that string (1xxxxxxxxxx) is finished, it forces the phone to dial; The term for 'S0' is 'Straight-Out'.

(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>)

This is my dialplan Adding 1 or # didn't have any effect on mine. Today it got improved itself to whooping 4 seconds delay
Anyhow I am interested adding SO
I guess that will look like this ??????

(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxxSO|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>)

Can I Add 911 plan for my Magicjack No like this below

(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxxSO|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>.|<911:4168082222>)

Or Any other Sugestion
Sorry I was away for a while

My current MJ dialplan is below

(*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>.|<911:4168082222>) Is the period in right place?

This looks like a standard Sipura plan, minus the 1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0 which is just 1+ any 3 numbers 0-9, then the [2-9] specifies the last 6 x's need to be between the digits of 2 and 6.

Code: Select all

(*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>.|<911:4168082222>)
This looks A-OK :) I've corrected the second one below this dial string, I've marked in as 2:

The <911:4168082222> would just simply dial 4168082222, is the the Toronto Police TIP line or their PSAP?..

Code: Select all

(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxxS0|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>.|<911:4168082222>)
2: Corrected String

Code: Select all

(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxxS0|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|*98|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.|<411:8004664411>)
Code 2 is for FPL just so you know, for MJ all you need to do is take out the initial 911 after the first '('.

Let me know how it goes!
