Service is not working properly in Barrie, Ontario either.

It shows as connected, I have a dial tone, but any incoming or outgoing calls just end up giving a busy signal. Really annoying.

Judging from the thread, this is a system wide problem because I'm having the same problem out in Ottawa.

Posts don't have a time stamp, but user451 wrote the time in his port. 5:45pm.
So this problem has lasted at least 1.5hrs. All with no input or info from FPL.
This is completely unacceptable. What if someone has an emergency??

Second guessing my choice of voip provider now.

Freephoneline, you guys MUST have a status page on your site for this type of situation.

What if there is an emergency at home and no one has a mobile phone?

Atleast have some updates and eta's and a sense of responsibility so we don't feel like we are in dark all the time.

This was great since i joined but since xmas issues issues issues.
I understand your frustration. I've been using FPL since '09 and to be honest with you I have been very pleased with this free service. Granted there have been problems in the past and will continue to be in the future, but all in all as far as a free phone service goes I'm not complaining about a minor inconvienence.

I agree, i have been with there sister company (Clearpointel) for around 5 years approx, besides the small minor hiccups over 5 years im still overly pleased with my Voip phone line service and I can tell you all that I have seen so much worse with other Voip providers so i don't understand why all the negativity here! :?

Cheer up everyone, it will be fixed in no time just be patient and give the engineers some time to work on what ever your problem your experiencing.

I live in Montreal (514) 447 I can make calls and receive them as we speak. Date: Wednesday Jan 16, 5:45pm

It's not that we are being unreasonable... we just need to know the timings and details of the outages... how do we know its a 1 day outage of 20 day outage and what is being done to resolve this...

And all in all i have been on fpl for more than a year or so and i did pay for sip file, port cost etc... so in a way its not 100% free, overtime the cost diminishes, but not as of yet.

EDIT: Service has been down since approx 3pm when my security system started to beep again... it is 7.12pm right now and still not working (incoming okay... outbound i get a fast busy)

Totally agree, I also use FPL long distance service to support FPL. My friend's and my 2 FPL lines (all in Montreal, Qc) can not make outbound call.

7:36 EST (Toronto) fast busy for dialing out, but I can receive calls. When I try to check my voicemail it tells me my account doesnt exist! :(

Have had a lot of off and on service since I joined, it hasnt been reliable for a phone but its hard to complain when I only paid for the config file, hopefully they can sort it out soon. Its ok for free but its not reliable enough for a home phone service in my opinion. People are annoyed that my phone is so flaky and I cant be reached half the time they call.

Im happy I have a backup phone :)
