No tone after dialling the number

Postby wz3y » 04/21/2014

my phone has the dial tone but after I dial the number, there are no tones any more. I know the call went thru by calling my own cellphone, but there are no voices be heard on either phones. please help

p.s I'm using Rogers network and few days ago I switched my modem to the Hitron CGN3ROG, I don't know if that could be the cause or not.

Hi there,

Please see below:

http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials

There`s a different sip server for Rogers customers with Hitron Modem.

Please adjust your ata settings to resolve.

Today I gentleman called from Fongo and solve the problem.

Following are the solutions(based on below)
http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials

1) Proxy and Registration
Proxy: voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 ( put whole line include :6060, your SIP Port still 5060 no change)

2) SIP Settings
SIP Port:5060

2) System Configuration
Use OpenDNS as you DNS ( http://www.opendns.com )
Set Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222 and Secondary DNS:208.67.220.220
DNS Server Order: Manual.DHCP
DNS Query Mode: Parallel

3) NAT Settings
NAT Mapping Enable: Yes
NAT Keep Alive : Yes
NAT Keep Alive Msg: $NOTIFY
NAT Keep Alive Dest: $PROXY

Thanks for Fongo Technology Team!

All the best!

Other side not able to hear.. Tunnel like sounds

Postby Shaf77 » 04/30/2014

Whenever I call anyone they say that they can barely hear me after a 30secs or so. They say it sounds like I am in a tunnel.

What settings on the ATA do I need to change to get the sound working properly please?

Hi there,

Can you confirm that:

a) the IP address of your ATA device is not in DMZ
b) your device is setup as per FPL gudelines below:

http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials

let me know.

I have confirmed that the ATA is not on the DMZ.

Also, checked and confirm that all my settings are as recommended per your link.

What else do I need to do. The phone line is almost unusable now.

Hi there,

Do you connect directly to out sip servers or you are using a third party vendor (sip broker)?

Please let me know.

I use sipsorcery. However, I have also tried and tested by disconnecting the third party and have the same issues.

Hi there,

You might need to escalate this to sipsocery admin to have your account checked.

If you connect directly to our sip servers and it's not working, perhaps there's a setting on your wireless router that needs to be adjusted.

voice fades out

Postby qdi40 » 05/06/2014

I've been told by a few people now that while speaking on the phone the audio seems to fade out and fluctuate, almost as if the tail end of what I am saying is getting cutoff. Not sure if this can be attributed to my ATA, my router, my ISP...
Anyone experience this or have any suggestions. I usually am online at the same time as this happens but do have QoS set on my router (Linksys E4200). One person seemed to feel as though the fade out happened at almost 2 minute intervals if that makes a difference.

Hi there,

To test, try to disconnect your ata from power and internet and connect it directly to your cable modem.

Place 2 calls and check the sound.

You might be able to find where the issue is.

This is similar to my issue and being told that it's not the problem of FPL... :(

Let's get something straight.

When I use sipsorcery - I have issues with voice.
When I connect directly to FPL - I have issues with voice.
When I use Skype or GV - I have no issues.

Why do I have issue with FPL? Others here are reporting the same...

Hi there,

My guess is that there are some settings that need to be adjusted with FPL.

You cannot compare FPL with GV.

In fact, GV will not work after may 15- as far as I heard.

http://blog.obihai.com/2013/10/importan ... voice.html

Perhaps you should fix your FPL issue sooner or look for another provider.

In your case- you should open a support ticket very soon.

Thanks,

I checked with siposrcery and I may not need to change my GV settings.

I have been told that:

Code: Select all
Apparently only GV XMPP gateway will no longer work. The sipsorcery GV mechanism uses the GV web page rather than the XMPP gateway. For the time being my advice would be to leave you set up as is.

A. please open a new support ticket http://support.fongo.com/anonymous_requests/new (make sure before submitting, to take down the request # this is so important)
B. Then send a Private Message to Fongo Support about your related issues along with request # ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=7852

Hi, I got same issue and submitted ticket as suggested. but when I PM Fongo Support I found the message is just sitting in "outbox" but "sent", does that work? Thanks,
